Hypothesis: The lady in blue has something to do with the insanity and horrible things going on. Because someone did kill her (likely someone on the team) and Komui thought it was best to get rid of her body by burning it. Whatever else happened caused the in-fighting that likely got the group separated from each other when the game began. There was likely an experiment that went wrong which the team had to escape and which was targeting certain members of the team specifically, all involving that lady in blue.

In Conclusion: The information was irrelevant. Most if not all of the bracers were found if not equipped, and the team got out safely. That's what matters primarily. And you're really sick to put them through this in the first place. And other people are sick for playing this game for points rather than getting that team out whole.

You were punishing Jim for losing the wolf game on purpose by putting his life and his teams' in the hands of those he risked himself to protect. In this way you hope that in the future to encourage a more selfish, less sacrificing nature in him. As all of Orion survived the game with their lives, the desired effect may not be obtained.

The circumstances of the 'game' are not as important as the effects on Orion and all those involved.

Hypothesis: Carly heard the Old Man's voice, or maybe a piece of it. Maybe you're curious about it because of Nico and I, maybe you always were. I think Carly was selected because she has very good hearing, but she's not in tune with this sort of thing like we were. She didn't hear all of it, I know. Not nearly as much as we did. For the rest of it... I don't know.

....probably, there were several things being tested. How Orion dealt with the situation based on the options they were given, and how and what we suggested to them. Orion was only under pressure to survive. Since the game conditions required only one survivor at least, it would be possible to win by working alone and taking advantage of the others, or by sacrificing one or more to ensure another's survival, as well as the all or nothing teamwork they did choose. Most likely, this was what you were observing.

For the rest of us, it's a game involving people not from our own teams. The possibilities are the same, but the stakes are different. Maybe because of that, we didn't stop to work together as much, instead everyone said what they thought should be done without consulting anyone. It worked in the end, but probably more by coincidence, since Orion had so many options to choose from, though not without some damage. But those reactions and how well people dealt with the situation seems to be the point of this game.

.......it's also likely that even if Orion hadn't volunteered, someone else would have been chosen for this by other means.

Though slow in some spots (mostly due to the poor decision-making on part of those playing, but also due to a load time so pitiful that you'd very nearly think someone was behind the scenes frantically drawing each new area), the game was mostly smooth and entertaining. The characters were distinct and sympathetic, and the story built up the tension in a low-budget yet skillful way.

I would have liked to see some extra avenues of exploration, more substantial backstories for the characters, and perhaps some optional bosses (beatable ones, perhaps?). I assume some of this content would have been unlocked through subsequent playthroughs or a more thorough initial playthrough (which is, again, not even remotely my fault). I also felt that they should have been given the option to level up the crowbar.

Which brings me to my hypothesis: This is not a complete game, but in fact a demo. There are still many bugs yet to be worked out, and the lack of completion in crucial areas will cripple its market success. You're on the right track, but going to have to push back the release date.

However, shows real potential, and that has to count for something. 3/5 stars, would New Game Plus.

I think that whatever Tofu summoned just made it worse, but before that there was already in-fighting centered on the woman in blue who was not part of the original unit, so there was a split as to whether on not she was trustworthy and the cause of whatever was going wrong. His summon ended up being worse than she was, hence why he would not talk about it because who wants to admit they ruined everything? So it was their own paranoia's fault that everything went wrong. If he was really suspicious he should have just killed her after there was some proof that she was causing the collapse.

But I'm just guessing, since I missed most of it, no one can fault me for making something up!

Poison was a mouse (species unknown, likely Mus musculus), because mice can be eaten by just about anything, but they're also a species that can survive just about anything. They also have poor eyesight, good hearing, and they don't use the phrase "lab mouse" for nothin'. So, uh. Nice sense of humor there, I guess.

Komui was a fox (does not bear resemblance to existing species; thus he is now dubbed Vulpes Pervus). Frankly, as a member of Vulpecula, I found somewhat personally insulting. Foxes are meant to be scrappy and opportunistic and, while sometimes lacking proper pack structure, they make up for pluckiness and survivalism! They're also considered to be a monogamous species, you know. Also they eat mice, but let's not go there.

Tofu was a regular old mutt. A labrador maybe? The kind that's been poorly trained and needs to be smacked on the nose. Similarly, Alice was a house cat. Unsure of breed. She displayed typical cat behavior when destroying that panel, much as a cat would claw up one's furniture.

In conclusion, I am completely BSing because while I have no idea what actually happened, I am hoping for partial credit.

My theory about the reasons behind this game haven't changed, but I'll also agree with Red, tentatively; part of this game's design was to put Orion in the position of saved, rather than savior. Another one of your variables was their ability to follow directions from an unknown source, I'll bet, since they're normally pretty independent as a rule; I'm still not sure how much of our guidance was communicated, or how it was done. I'm going to revise my identifications, though; in addition to "Poison" and "Komui", Ashikawa Mitsuru was "Tofu", Elza was "Alice", and Chaz was both "Yandere" and the mirror. (I'm not sure when the change happened, but probably sometime between the fight and "Tofu"'s summoning memory, since he mentioned losing someone.) The woman in blue was the "prototype" that was mentioned in the terms.

The story you implanted in their memories was probably intended to introduce some division in the team; more of a distraction than anything else. It doesn't really matter what they thought happened, only that it had an effect on how they responded to us and each other.

The thing that was chasing them seems like it's related to whatever's in the pillar, and letting something like that loose on anyone is bloody sick. It's a good thing we got them all out. I don't want to think what would've happened if they didn't make it.]

It wasn't the first time, that they'd woken up. I think it must have happened a lot. Carly . . . Poison knew, and tried to remind herself, leave clues in the sound, but . . . that sound . . .

I think . . . they forgot, when they slept. That waking up each time . . . was a bit like starting over again. But . . . maybe only after Tofu's memory, after they fought . . . that thing. Was it the same thing? She knew, that it ate electricity . . . were they the ones who turned the power off?

That thing, that sound . . .

. . . the lady in blue . . . she was leading them, back to the furnace. Because she was resting there? If . . . Chaz . . . if Yandere was the mirror, was she . . . the reflection? Two in one, like . . .

Were they the same?

'Idlewood'. There . . . were things there, from their pasts. Like the things in their pasts. Was that one of them, or did . . . Yandere or Poison, how much did they know? The messages were different . . .

Elza, Alice, she . . . she didn't want them to leave either. Not that way. Because it was a trap? Or there were consequences? She and Kirk . . . wanted to see it through. She was the one who made sure of it, though.

And then she didn't sleep.

. . . where Carly woke up. Where the eyes could see her, through the glass. She . . . said 'bait'. She was . . . that's what she was, there. When the eyes came back.

I don't know why. For all of this . . . I think, still, there's a lot we don't know.
