THE DAY OF MEAT IS UPON US
Who: Any and all carnivores
Where: Where the party is
When: King's Year 198, last summer, the final day of the Meat Festival
What: Meat Day

[Today , the open plains have transformed into a bustling little city of tents and smokehouses. Everywhere, people are cooking, eating, dancing, and partying down. Heroes of the raptor hunt (easily recognizable wearing the cleaned skulls of their kills as fashionable hats) are telling their tales. Somebody has already broken out the booze.]

[It probably goes without saying, but the whole world smells fantastic.]

Hm, maybe a half hour with the beer. But still so worth it!

Has anybody told you what happens on Cepheus Meat Day? Why, it's downright barbaric!

I hope you learned your lesson! No matter where I end up in life, I'm coming back to Vulpecula for Meat Day, no matter how many prisons I gotta break out of!

...Sometimes it's kinda nice to buy meat, though. Pretty much frees up the whole day.

I'm not a criminal. I'm a victim of cultural misunderstanding.

Well, obviously!

There's a distinction! How'm I supposed to know what's somebody's pet and what isn't, or not to clean the blood up in a public fountain? What the hell does the word "public" mean if you can't do something simple like that?

[s-snorts]

Hey, hey, I say criminal in the nicest way possible! An' "public" to them means "bein' outside their house". You should hear 'bout some of the rules I gotta follow when I travel places.

No bar fights - or fights at all, really. They call that shit "disorderly conduct" an' toss ya in jail for the whole night.
