The chains wrap around Scowl's neck and lift him off his feet by them.]

[It starts to use Scowl as a shield for Pyre's incoming attack... when suddenly it staggers, chains going slack...

As the wing rips, a vortex of air seems to shred half of the Shadow. Dropping Scowl, and disregarding Pyre, it turns to face Simba instead, chains lashing out much like a whip.]
