And don't look so shocked. Is there really any other way I could possibly live? It's not really me that's saving anything. "I" may as well not exist. I'm just being dragged along by the arm, pretending the path carved in stone for me is one I want to take. What choice do I have? And the things "I" hold dear, well... about them... they're really his, aren't they? What do I care about Mana, anyway? Did he care about me?

I have it good here. Just eat and sleep and get ripped apart every once and a while, and everyone always comes back! Nobody actually has to suffer death at all! How human to claim we're ever suffering when souls are twisting and writhing in the pillar! If everyone could see what I can, I wonder if they'd complain about their situation at all... But then everyone would be afraid, right? It's better to just forget about it. Best to just see the pillar as little as possible, even though they're miserable in there. God, it makes me sick when people act like they're dead.

All these friends I rely on here that know what my duty is, wouldn't they be disgusted if they knew how much I loved this place? Finally, a chance to actually be myself! Nobody cares about Innocence! There aren't any akuma! There's no obligation to go through with Mana's curse! My eye can bleed all it wants, it's not getting any satisfaction! I have a family here, a real family. Hell, I try harder to garden than I try to get people out of the pillar, and I may as well because I can't do shit about it!

Just abandon it all! Abandon the war! Chosen one? Prophecy? What the fuck is that? How could that possibly be about me? They'll find a new exorcist and have a prophecy about him! Or better... maybe all those humans who have been so carelessly creating akuma, carelessly causing the worst suffering and carelessly hating what they themselves have done, maybe they'll all just die.
