[The door opens to a large cavern -- at first glance, you think a cave of some kind, but there are steps and intricate arches carved into the stone, and though everything is worn -- through time or water or wind or all three -- you can probably tell it's a little too structured to be anything but man-made. Water runs down from small waterfalls into a pool at the centre, where there are two boys.

One faces you, perched on top of a pillar of rock. He is calm and steady and covered with blood -- it coats his hands, soaks his clothes and matts his hair. In his hands there is a katana, obviously well-used. He has yellow eyes, and though he is smiles at you, it's completely unfriendly.

The second has his back to you, facing the other, but turns as the door clangs when you enter.]
