Ex Machina RP - a futuristic sci-fi RP on Inksome [09 Dec 2008|05:04pm] PREMISE In 2015, Valley Dynamics, a renowned global technological giant, developed bio-mechanical androids called NeohumansTM. They were hailed as a breakthrough in artificial intelligence and the next generation in computer technology, NeohumansTM became available to anyone who could afford them at the time. Unknown to the public, around the same time that NeohumansTM were being developed, Valley Dynamics was also working on a more subtle version of bio-mechanical androids called Facsimiles that can blend seamlessly into the general population. Now in 2020, whether it be from outside influence or internal, NeohumansTM and Facsimiles alike are experiencing glitches in their programming. Only a small number of cases have occurred so far, just small things that Valley Dynamics have managed to take care of one way or another. But something bigger is coming and no one, not even those at Valley Dynamics, knows what it is, when it will happen, and least of all why. All info can be found at our website and the mod journal. Durmstrang Uber Alles - a Durmstrang-based HP game on Inksome [09 Dec 2008|05:23pm] PREMISE The wizarding world goes far beyond the walls of Hogwarts. The Durmstrang Institute was created by German scholars for the magical instruction of Eastern European wizards sometime after the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was established. In its inception, Durmstrang accepted all promising students who had magical aptitude. However, the rise of the wizard Grindelwald and increasing tensions between the social classes resulted in the expulsion of any non-pureblooded students. Now, known Muggleborns and halfbloods are no longer accepted, and the school is known for pureblooded wizards, study of Dark Arts, rigid social classes, and tradition. Students that graduate from Durmstrang are the most talented, the strongest, the brightest, and the best. Stakes are high, and not all students will succeed. Some may never make it to graduation. The community is a reform school for boys - most of the children live there, boarding school style, or because they are orphans and have nowhere else to live; however, there are some day students that live nearby. [09 Dec 2008|08:43pm] About St. Augustine is a Catholic School for gifted students. It has been around for centuries, but no one knows what it truly is. The Nuns from the school sent out letters to specific people, informing them that they should enroll. The specific individuals that receive the letter have something special. An ability. An ability to fly, to stop time, to walk on walls…to make it simple; powers. But why are they sent to the Catholic School? Because the nuns believe that God gave them the abilities, and they have a specific purpose for Him. But how do they know who has the abilities, and who doesn’t? Well, every year they get a letter from a mysterious person with a list of names. Names of young individuals with the abilities; their names, address, age, history, everything is included for each one. The nuns believe that it is from ‘upstairs’, but the unidentified person is really unknown. Nobody has seen this person. But they never question. They never ask. They are confident that it’s Him who’s sending the letters. Now the students of St. Augustine are not only being taught math, English, history, prayers, and about the Christian religion; they are also taught how to control their powers by a special group of Professors. They are taught how to control their abilities, and to use them for the good of the people. The students aren’t allowed to question. They aren’t allowed to ask. They are just supposed to listen. But what happens when the students do start to question the nuns? What if they start to question about who’s really sending the letters? Well, all we know is that St. Augustine is probably your oddest Catholic School. But with that constant contact came something else. A new mystery that the young magical community both loves and hates. She calls herself "The Gossip Witch", and no one knows her true identity. All they know is that if there's gossip in the Wizarding community, The Gossip Witch knows it, and she's not afraid to print it. Entries from this unknown source appear in the journals weekly, sometimes even daily; printing everything there is to know about the lives and scandals of former Hogwarts graduates. She may use initials, but just about everyone knows who the rumors are about. Will your character end up on Gossip Girl's daily dishings? And how will this affect their lives, their relationships, and their emotions? No matter how it plays out, you know you love her...
