One moment in Reesyn, and you can tell why so many supernatural/paranormal beings live there. Not only are the people more accepting, but the town itself holds a deep history and power. (The power comes from the fact that Reesyn is build upon power leys, in fact, the center of town is where two power leys meet and cross.)
16 years ago, a terrible fire ravaged the city. Buildings and business alike were damaged, lives lost. The truth of how that fire started has long been hidden, and though there are many theories no one is sure what happened, or why and who hid the truth, at least no one telling. Most buildings were repaired and reopened not long after the fire, but some sat empty, for years. One in particular, the old apartment, sat empty and rundown until recently. It's been fully restored and reopened, which may have made a few of the not so lively natives a little restless.
Reesyn's your typical American town. With a few quirks.

Reesyn is strictly an Original Character game.
Reesyn is open to all things (slash, mature situations, incest, pregnancies, anything along those lines), so long as they're done realistically and you follow the games basic rules.
The game is open and very much accepting applications.

It’s the start of a new year. Sorceress Ultimecia’s reign of terror is over, and though SeeD has fulfilled its purpose, Garden’s doors remain open to children to face the inevitable foes that dare to replace her. Slowly but surely, it feels that the world is reverting back into its old rhythm and forgetting the wounds of yesteryear. Organisations continue to provide Balamb Garden with a steady line of clientele, utilising their teams of elite mercenaries by pulling them across-continent as personal soldiers. Other cadets hang back within the academy, waiting their turn as they focus on schoolwork, training… and just a little more than before, having social lives. Life may not be all about fighting and war from here on, and the dangerous electricity in the air, lingering from the battles just months ago, does nothing to ruin the palpable feeling of relief and the promise for new beginnings.
But the calms after storms are fickle things. Who knows how long this one will last?
It’s a new age -- not perfect, but better.
For now.

Detailed writers are to be found herein, as well as canon personalities and an uncertain future that anyone can influence.
Balamb Garden students are playable between the ages 15-19.

The gods have not faded away, or been reborn. They are not in high school. They have not forgotten who they were. They remember, because they still exist.
Though their followers are fewer and less vocal, once a god, always a god. The important things have not changed with the passage of time, though with the advance of the mortal world, gods have discovered the joys of modernization. Because even a Muse can appreciate an iPod.
Of course the Sumerians are still insular (and a tad stuck up), the Greeks still squabble amongst themselves more than they do with the other pantheons, and the Norse… well, with Loki on the loose and Ragnarok threatened, they do have their hands full.
In every pantheon, just as in any group of individuals, you have those that are warm, friendly and open. And those that never learned to work and play well with others. How will they manage to coexist? How have they done so thus far? What happens when Anubis meets Hades? Or Thor challenges Nergal?
Come help us answer those questions and tell those stories.

Gotham City, once the most pristine city in the world, will never be the same again.
Nearly thirty years ago, the city began to struggle. The gap between the rich and the poor was only growing and violent crime was on the rise. Those who fought this corruption found themselves admired by few. It was only after the death of Gotham's golden couple, Thomas and Martha Wayne, that the corruption escalated The city fell into despair and the silent mobs who had operated in the background for decades, rose to power.
No one dared to stand up to the mob and the reasons were clear; you either join or become a public enemy. Various corporations, businesses, and law enforcement establishments fell into mob control, leaving citizens in the midst of mafia power struggles. The innocent suffered or were forced to give in. No one was safe and the more time that passed, the more power the mafia gained.
Early 2007, a mysterious figure appeared to fight these criminals. His courage has influenced others to take a stand over the year, but the mafia still controls the majority of the city. The lone man, dubbed 'The Batman', is going to have more to worry about than the mob in his city. Despite the fear he has struck into the hearts of organized crime, another form of villain has started to emerge. Donning their own costumes, these criminals are turning the work of the Batman against him.
But Batman does not fight alone. His work has inspired others to take the law into their own hands. These caped vigilantes are as eager to protect Gotham as the Batman, whether he accepts the help or not.
