A Post-Hogwarts Era Game
PREMISE In 1999, the Ministry of Magic decides to offer criminals an opportunity to reform and lead a "normal" life: they are branded with a mark on their wrist and are not allowed to use magic—their wands either destroyed or locked away in the Ministry. They cannot apparate or travel outside the U.K.; work a Ministry assigned job; and they are under constant watch by the Ministry of Magic, losing most of their rights to privacy (including the limitation of how many other people they can be with at any given time).
Because of their status, they are also assigned housing which is regulated and watched on a regular basis—they can live as a regular wizarding citizen, but not without the cost of constant Ministry eyes on them. They have privacy at home, but the Ministry is required to know where they are at all times.
Those opposing the Ministry Reformation Plan turned restless, feeling as though their safety and the safety of muggle society became compromised despite the Ministry's efforts to control the criminals who chose to reform. Even though Death Eaters are believed to be powerless, especially without their wands, the Ministry, the Order of the Phoenix, and others struggle with the new reform. Wizarding society has begun to break down...

| the story; Ω | Life on Olympus couldn't be better now that it's 2009 and the mortals have stopped pestering us. Yep, things'd be just perfect if that crazy cannibalistic grandfather/uncle/father of ours (it gets confusing with all that inbreeding) hadn't decided he wanted revenge for being locked up a couple of centuries. Who knew there was truth to the saying 'hell on earth?' Well guys and gals, looks like it's time to adapt to the mortal realm because Cronus isn't going to let us go back home anytime soon...
Welcome to Fallen Pedestals, where the ancient characters of Greek mythology have been stripped of their powers and banished to the busy city of Manhattan. From there, it's up to them: will they try and fit in to the modern day mortal society, or will they spend their time plotting to take the Heavens back by force?
[Fallen Pedestals has several interesting spots open such as Hades, Apollo, Eros, Pan, and Hera.]

The Ministry: A HP RPG |
[02 Nov 2009|12:02pm] |
|
After the Second Wizarding War there was a moment of calm, of peace and serenity. It was soon interrupted as people began to worry about what would happen next. No one wanted to risk the a slide back to what had happened during the war, but with public opinion split on the direction of wizarding society, there only seemed to be one solution - elect a new Minister of Magic. It was all very clean cut, very democratic. There were speeches and town hall meetings. The people came out and spoke their mind and in the end they picked the side that was safer – the older side of the coin. The party made up of mainly Pure Bloods – Puritas – was elected into the Ministry of Magic over the more progressive Allied Party. However, it wasn’t one of the old hats, nor was it someone that people would always look at and see the Dark Mark. They had been smarter than that.
Chance Warrington, now the newly elected Minister of Magic, was left to set up his cabinet, name his advisers and his ministers. Since he was elected to the position by the majority of the magical society in England, there is no reason to think that they would object to him, his choices, his policies or his staff….right? The press, the pundits, have openly criticized everything from policy to the color of his tie at brunch. With the fate of society resting in his hands, which way will it go?
The Ministry is a post DH, non epilogue compliant game set in 2006 that centers around the Ministry of Magic and the political struggles of the wizarding world. Inspired by shows like The West Wing, the focus will be on the internal struggles and mechanisms that drive the Ministry of Magic.
Game Opens November 16

WHAT ELSE WE GOIN' DO? GO HOME?
It is 1943 in Nazi-occupied France. Paris, to be exact. It has been two years since the Nazis have felt completely safe, and that is all due to a very small group of very special soldiers. Jewish-American soldiers led by Lt. Aldo Raine; dropped behind enemy lines with one purpose, and one purpose only: Killing Nazis. And they are damn good at it.
The Allies keep doing their work, as does the French Resistance, trying to bring down the German oppressors behind close doors; many of them owe a lot of their success to these men.
Plots, ambushes, escapes, breakouts, fear and bludgeoning: It could happen to you, or it could work for you. Depends on which side you are on. One thing is for sure: whichever way you get involved, you will probably be a badass.WANTED PFC Omar Ulmer (Basterds) PFC Gerold Hirschberg (Basterds) Lt. Archie Hicox (Allies) Pvt. The First War: a MWPP RPG |
[02 Nov 2009|04:53pm] |
| Rules † Cast † Wanted † Available † Journals † Timeline † Game Canon † Locations |
The year is 1978. The war against the Death Eaters has been boiling under the surface for almost a decade now. It was little things at first, easy to ignore, escalating to bigger attacks, bigger crimes, and of course, retaliation. Now the country is about ready to tear itself apart as the Ministry steps up their attempts to defeat Voldemort and no one is really sure who they should trust, if they should trust anyone at all. Who can you turn to when your own government is as likely to kill you as the masked criminals roaming the streets?
Even the muggles are starting to notice. Attacks in muggle places are becoming more frequent, the Death Eaters getting more bold. And everyone is asking the same question.
How long before it's open war?
The First War is a Post-Warts, MWPP era RPG. We are canon through November 1st, 1978 and then we diverge, allowing the characters to tell their own stories.
Currently we are most interested in: Order Members, Death Eaters, and MLE Employees |

The Wizarding World has seen its fair share of suffering, such as the reign of Lord Voldemort that occurred not once, but twice. But, as it was foreseen, good triumphed over evil and the world gained peace. It seemed to be everlasting for witches and wizards everywhere, a great relief to those who feared the worst in the midst of rebuilding. Twenty-five years later, someone now threatens to destroy the peace that has come to be, though not in such a way that would strike fear in the general public. It's much worse: Hogwarts has a new Headmaster and the students aren't going to like him.
Tiberius Ogden was just appointed the position of Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the summer, the former Headmaster, Matthew Harrison, having abruptly retired when he suddenly came upon a very large sum of money. The Ogden name is famous for its liquor, though Tiberius has no interest in making drunks out of his peers. No, Tiberius Ogden followed another path, one of strict behavior that came with wielding a firm hand rather than a tap. A retired Hit Wizard, Tiberius has known a life of hardship and determination and believes that today's youth are becoming weak-minded prats. As a way to change this, he quickly took up the position Headmaster Harrison wished to discard.
Students will be in for quite the shock when they return to school to have their yearly start of term feast. Not only are they receiving a new Headmaster, but he comes with a whole new set of rules - rules so numerous in count that a book of them was created - something each student will find at their seat.
Will your student follow the rules or say Bugger All! to them? |

OPENING 11/4! Now accepting holds and applications!

Heritage is a remote community in northwestern Oregon, situated along the shores of Heritage Lake. Millionaire Cleveland Pickens built the Heritage Lake Lodge in 1910 as a hotel and resort for folks who just wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. He wanted The Lodge to be an oasis -- a luxury lodging facility in tune with the natural world and with the grandeur of nature as close as the backyard.
The town of Heritage originally sprang up around The Lodge and Heritage Lake as a community to house the resort workers. What started as temporary housing expanded to a permanent town structure by the 1950s. Resort workers married, started families, and had children. The town grew, and though there are many local businesses and schools, the economy of the town still relies greatly on the success of the Heritage Lake Lodge -- because of the jobs it provides and the tourism it brings to the area.
