It was the year of Sgt. Pepper and Surrealistic Pillow; it was the year that Jimi Hendrix took on America at the Monterey Pop Festival, the festival that also launched Janis Joplin beyond the Bay Area and introduced The Who to the West Coast. It was also a year of great political unrest and protest as American involvement in Vietnam continued to grow. 1967 was a year of peace, flowers, freedom, happiness, anger, protest, unrest and insanity beyond anything the world had seen before. | PROLOGUE |
You wake up one morning with a headache, you wonder if you're hung-over but you didn't drink anything last night so that can't be it and after taking a painkiller and heading to work you forget all about it. A few days later you think you back to your childhood and there's a memory that doesn't fit, it doesn't make sense and you try not to think about it because it sets you and edge and makes you feel uncomfortable.
It doesn't stop.
Maybe weeks go by, or maybe it's months, and someone turns up on your doorstep. Maybe they look official, or they're wearing jeans and a T-Shirt, but they introduce themselves and tell you that they're from something called 'The Agency', they sit you down and if you're lucky they'll make you a cup of tea or pour you a drink before explaining it all to you.
The memories are real, but they're someone else's, someone you always thought of as fictional. You're what they call a reincarnate, someone who's been reincarnated from this fictional person, brought into this world with magic that no one yet understands.
They talk about a war that's being fought between two sides of reincarnates, the good and the bad. You're not told what side to pick or that you need to, but you know that a day will come when you and the person you were and are possibly becoming will need to choose.

| This city never sleeps. Welcome to Durmstadt, the bustling wizarding community on the outskirts of the Black forest. Serving wizards and witches in the area, Durmstadt is the favorite location of students of the Durmstrang Institute.
With inns, taverns, shops and restaurants catering to many nationalities, nearly everyone can find a bit of home here. It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the daily grind at Durmstrang. Come on in, pull up a chair, and have a spot of tea. You could use a break. After all, school's not out just yet. It's only a matter of time until you have to go back to class.

Halloween at Godric's Hollow changed the course of history -- a savior
was slain in his crib, and a Dark Lord rose to great and lasting power.
Headmistress Umbridge has been murdered, Hogwarts closed indefinitely.
Werewolf attacks are on the rise, children taken from loving homes
because one parent is a werewolf. St. Mungo's is as much a place of
torture as of healing as new and better ways of killing are researched.
Traitors hide under the banners they chose, while madmen lead the
way. The Order is weak, though mobilizing. Some have lost hope in
them, while others strive to resurrect the Phoenix.
No one knows what the future will hold.
The world is different. There is no Boy Who Lived to save you.

Lilith is dead.
A year ago, those three words would have been cause for celebration amongst hunters.
Two weeks ago, those words became a nightmare.
Lilith's blood proved to be the final seal, the last lock on the door to Lucifer's cage, and with her destroyed, he is free to walk the earth. And he is not alone. Hundreds of demons rose with him, the likes of whom have not been seen this side of Hell for several millennium: fallen angels, the first demons ... and the Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Lucifer and his kin have wasted no time in destroying whatever lays in his path. The destruction started in Maryland -- but it has not ended there. Major cities along the east coast lay in ruins, and it spreads, day by day.
But humanity is not alone. Angels walk the earth, and hunters have joined together en masse for the first time in recorded history. The question on everyone's mind is, is it enough?

In a suburban community in a nameless city in a nameless state, people wake up every morning with their hair perfectly combed. They sometimes drink from empty cups. They deliver witty one-liners. Every problem they ever have can be resolved in 30 minutes, or in a very special one-hour episode. Everyone who lives in this community is a sit-com character reborn. They are not aware of this, of course. There is no laugh track playing in the background of their days, no mood music and no set lighting. For these people, the world around them, their neighbors, and their selves are as real as anything. But we know better. We have seen them in prime time. We'd know them anywhere.
Sit-Comical is an RPG where you reinvent a sit-com character and place him or her in this unusual, but mostly reality-based suburban world. All human, non-magical characters are welcome, and though you must stick to the essence of the original sit-com character, much of these characters will become your own creation. The fading stench of sulfur is still lingering in the air when you wake up, disoriented and groggy, the gentle rain aiding to bring you back to consciousness. Wherever you were, whether you were sleeping or simply resting your eyes at the time, is long gone.
Now, you're in the middle of the forest and beside the fact that you were one place last you remember and are now in completely another, something else still feels off. On your person is nothing except a small "survival kit" with an unfamiliar logo; two words in Latin: Vas Captio. The kit contains soggy matches, a packet of Tic Tacs, a pair of tube socks, a bottle of water, and a journal with a pen taped to it. When you finally feel together enough to get up and walk, making your way out of the forest, you come upon an abandoned village.
Welcome to Vas Captio. You're on our time now, so sit back, try to relax, and just be yourself. That's why you're here, after all; we are very interested in studying you. But, then, you'll find that out soon enough on your own.

& more! | What happens to the old gods, once their temples have crumbled and their believers have abandoned them? Do they die, forsaken, alone? Or do they remain, still wandering the world, immortal, surviving off what little belief they can gather?
Forgotten Gods follows the lives of these old deities, brought to America long ago by explorers or immigrants from their homelands and eventually abandoned or lost from memory. As their worshippers moved on to new religions, the gods' powers waned - for a god, at its most pure essence, is no more than an idea, and an idea is worthless if there is nobody to believe in it. Some have passed, forgotten, from the world, while others have fallen into madness. Some have simply tried to adapt, to make a life for themselves in this place without gods, getting by on what little scraps of worship and belief they can garner. Others are more radical, attempting to regain the power that was once theirs, to revive their followings.
And then there are the New Gods. Gods of cars and computers, television and radio, cities and highways, all those things that modern Americans put their faith in. They are young, at the height of their power. These newcomers are regarded dismissively by some of the older gods, who have seen so many new deities rise and fall in their time; jealously by others, who wish to reclaim the power for their own; and by all with a deep wariness.
Inspired by the world of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, this game invites players to step into the roles of deities, old and new, to create their own modern mythology.
