PREMISE.
1967. This was the year of the Summer of Love. It was the year that saw waves of tourists, dropouts, runaways, artists, musicians, beatniks and otherwise descend on the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco, looking for peace and love and beautiful people. It was the year of Sgt. Pepper and Surrealistic Pillow; it was the year that Jimi Hendrix took on America at the Monterey Pop Festival, the festival that also launched Janis Joplin beyond the Bay Area and introduced The Who to the West Coast. It was also a year of great political unrest and protest as American involvement in Vietnam continued to grow. 1967 was a year of peace, flowers, freedom, happiness, anger, protest, unrest and insanity beyond anything the world had seen before. Don't miss it again!
"What I have to say can be summed up in six words - TUNE IN, TURN ON, DROP OUT." - Timothy Leary
