British Literature RPG [09 Aug 2008|12:12am] Characters | Rules | Contact | Friend All | Apply Premise | A-Levels/Clubs The year was 2007. Lancaster College, a private school for A-Level students in Oxford, began having a problem with their students. Many were failing their exams, deciding they didn't have the time or motivation to focus on their courses and studies. Parties began happening every night, teachers lost control, and the students began cutting, being disrespectful, and violent. The needle that broke the camel's back, however, was the library fire. It's still debated whether it was an act of violence, or if someone just left a cigarette burning, because practically everything in it was destroyed, but something had to be done, but what? It was the Headmaster who decided that it might be best for everyone if the students began boarding at school. It would give the professors a better idea what the students were like, allowing them to focus and improve on their classroom tactics. If they were able to approach the subjects in a way that the students could grasp, then the students would surely benefit. So, the school was closed down that December, and the Headmaster called in construction crews to build another building- a four story dorm. After several months, Mullen Hall, Lancaster College's newest addition, was ready for use. A few students weren't exactly happy with the idea of a sixth form boarding school. To them, it severly limited freedom. But to most, it gave a good idea what University would be like. So a handful of teens signed up. It is now 2008 and the new school year is just beginning. Will the Headmaster's idea prove successful? Will the students finally buckle down and learn or will they continue to fail their A-levels? post comment

Lechance [09 Aug 2008|07:59am] This world isn't quite like ours. Not quite. In the wake of the rennisance, which occurred in the mid-thirteenth century, society changed. Gender became less important and chosen roles were taken more into account. Technology continued at a slightly increased rate but with a great deal of aestheticism taken into account: Computers exist now, in the nineteenth century, but they look like this and are powered by wind turning motors: Have fun creating a steampunk world. There are three chosen roles without the universe: Ascendant, Beloved, and Two Spirit. Do they die, forsaken, alone? Or do they remain, still wandering the world, immortal, surviving off what little belief they can gather? Forgotten Gods follows the lives of these old deities, brought to America long ago by explorers or immigrants from their homelands and eventually abandoned or lost from memory. As their worshippers moved on to new religions, the gods' powers waned - for a god, at its most pure essence, is no more than an idea, and an idea is worthless if there is nobody to believe in it. Some have passed, forgotten, from the world, while others have fallen into madness. Some have simply tried to adapt, to make a life for themselves in this place without gods, getting by on what little scraps of worship and belief they can garner. Others are more radical, attempting to regain the power that was once theirs, to revive their followings. And then there are the New Gods. Gods of cars and computers, television and radio, cities and highways, all those things that modern Americans put their faith in. They are young, at the height of their power. These newcomers are regarded dismissively by some of the older gods, who have seen so many new deities rise and fall in their time; jealously by others, who wish to reclaim the power for their own; and by all with a deep wariness. Not more than a week ago, several of the wizarding worlds greatest villains broke out of the captive hold in Azkaban prison. Much to the Ministry's dismay, Voldemort’s forces are nearly complete, and after the carefully planned Department of Mysteries break-in is successful, he will be on his way to becoming the most powerful Wizard in the world. Concept What if Voldemort won? Avada Kedavra! is an Alternate Universe RPG where the Death Eaters are our primary concern. Escapees, those who eluded capture and their families are gathered in a single game as a giant connexion network. The game has not officially opened and many characters are available. [09 Aug 2008|06:04pm] In 1975, as Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs (better known as the Marauders, at least to themselves) enter their 5th year at Hogwarts, the wizarding world as they know it is slowly changing. Like the first touch of cool rain, dark whisperings are beginning to be heard among wizards, particularly those of the oldest pureblooded families. Something is coming - and as it arrives, the whispers will rise to voices, and eventually all wizards of the world will hear the echoes of screams. Dark Voices follows the students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as they learn to adapt to a changing world. Making friends, forming alliances, standing for what they believe in, and all hoping that they will be left standing in the end. A new game with over 30 characters, Dark Voices is looking for some more Order members to balance out the Death Eaters, and more female Hogwarts students, as there are a lot more boys right now! Hexennacht is an alternate universe MWPP game set in 1985; a world where Gellert Grindelwald is now the Minister of Magic for all of Europe, and Muggleborn wizards live in fear of the Black Caps, Grindelwald's personal army, charged with keeping the Muggles and wizards alike in line. Hexennacht begins with the latest decree restricting magic allowed by Muggleborn wizards to the simplest forms of magic, while the purebloods are allowed to get away with murder. With the Death Eaters on the run, Voldemort in Azkaban with no hope of getting out, and the Order in hiding, along with the remains of their single ally, a former terrorist organization, is there any hope of restoring Europe to a land of tolerance? Since the dawn of time they've been blamed for all of life's oddities. A strange noise? It must be a ghost. Pets mangled and eaten? Maybe a werewolf got them. That pale man that never ventures out in the day? A vampire, surely. Children behaving badly must be changelings, and that table had to have been forced into your path by a mischievous sprite, now giggling at your misfortune. The list goes on. For each being, there are hundreds of tales, most pure delusion of course, though much of it based in fact. From Nessie and Sasquatch to the Bermuda Triangle and the Land of Mu, our world is filled with the unattainable, the unexplainable... that which we call Myth, or Legend. Yet, like the Will O' the Wisp, or the ghost breath that sends a shiver down your spine, the truth tugs softly at our conscience. Whispers in the dark of a boogeyman in the shadows, or a fairy spinning gossamer tales in the corners of your mind. They are real. And in so many ways... they are just like you. They work. They feed. They even have children. And just like humans, those children go to school. School however, isn’t always as just classes and homework. [09 Aug 2008|11:24pm] GAME × OOC × MOD PLOT × RULES × APPLICATION AVAILABLE × FAQS × PBs CONTACTS × FRIENDS × BACK COMM IN THE 1970s, the wizarding world saw the rise of Lord Voldemort, fearsome leader of the movement to eradicate muggles and muggle-borns from the world. The first five years of Voldemort's active stage were relatively quiet though. Very few actually knew an uprising of the purist movement was coming soon - and in the most extreme of ways. Towards the middle of the decade, he and his Death Eaters came more into the forefront, staging attacks on the muggle and wizarding worlds alike. No witch or wizard could believe what was happening. Not since the time of Grindelwald had such havoc been wrought on their world, let alone to the muggles as well. However, life goes on. People get married, have children, continue living their lives, even with the constant threat over their heads. Students continue to attend Hogwarts and learn, fight, and fall in love. The fifth years prepare for their O.W.L.s. As they hurdle toward their exams, stress, along with the sparks of conflicting ideas, put strains on students and the relationships they hold, particularly one of Lily Evans and Severus Snape. The pinnacle moment of the breaking of their friendship was talked about for months afterwards. Severus Snape called his best friend a Mudblood in a moment of humilation and anger, causing the demise of their friendship, and putting into motion the events and actions that would eventually lead to the death of Lily and James Potter and baby Harry Potter destroying Voldemort the first time. But... what if it had not happened? What if James had not approached Severus and found something else to direct his attention towards? Would things have been different? Could it have changed the course of history or would Lily and James marry still and have the saviour of the wizarding world? Only time can tell. Death Eaters are infiltrating Hogwarts by recruiting students within, student's families are being torn apart, and the world is spiraling into a war based on bloodlines. Through all of this, how will Hogwarts students lead their lives? Where will their loyalties fall as they are forced to choose between joining Voldemort or defying him? One thing is certain though: They will feel like they are not in control of their own destinies. [09 Aug 2008|11:49pm] Breaking Dawn A Post-Eclipse RPG Game now open! This is a canon Twilight game taking place after Eclipse. I’D HAD MORE THAN MY FAIR SHARE OF NEAR-DEATH experiences, it wasn’t something you ever really got used to. It seemed oddly inevitable, though, facing death again, Like I really was marked for disaster. I’d escaped time and time again, but it kept coming back for me. Still this time was so different from the others. You could run from someone you feared, you could try to fight someone you hated. All my reactions were geared toward those kinds of killers – the monsters, the enemies. When you love the one who was killing you, it left you no options. How could you run, how could you fight, when doing so would hurt that beloved one? If your life was all you had to give your beloved, how could you not give it? If it was someone you truly loved?
