In the heart of the beautiful city lies the true nature. Vampires, werewolves, necromancers, and shapeshifters, not to mention a whole bunch more of other species, that clearly aren't human any longer. They've been there for a long time. They aren't going to leave, and even though their history spans longer than the city it's self, things are just getting started. The Mathias werewolf pack, and the Isline vampire coven have just recently made themselves a peace treaty. No one knows how long its going to last, and even if it will last. The Baltimore Syndicate members are becoming so greedy in their lust for domination that they chose to ignore the rise of members in the Lolea clan. The hunters are getting restless too. Everyone feels a shift in their world, and are slowly reacting to it. Even if only subconciously. It'll all come to a stopping hault soon, but no one knows who's going to end up the victor. The Volturi are a lot more interested in Bella and the Cullens than the Cullens think. They have been debating how to go about making sure Bella is changed, and new hunting ground. The story starts a week or so before Heidi comes to America with two other Volturi members. Rachel Black comes home and everything appears to be calming down. That is until more vampires show up... Not just the three Volturi, but the Denali family come down from Alaska for a visit to the Cullen's. They want to know why they've heard rumors about the Volturi coming States side.... It does what it needs to to thrive, even when the changes that must be made are buried deep within the genes. Evolution. Sometimes it comes in baby steps, sometimes in giant leaps and bounds. Sometimes all it takes is one slight shift, and the change appears. This change is called mutation. The jump in human evolution that takes place in the early twenty-first century, is a mutation which causes enhancements in the known human condition. With some the change is known from birth, but it takes time in others to develop. The enhancements are unknown to most of the human population, and for most of those who share such a condition, are secrets best kept hidden. There is an apartment complex in Las Vegas, Nevada, whose occupants are specimens of this new generation of evolved humans. Most of them are hiding their special adaptations. Some have been living in their current apartments for a while now, and some are recent arrivals. It is unclear as to the motives of fate. The reasons for this specific group of people to be brought together at this specific time in this specific place are unknown.
