[29 Jan 2008|04:20am] A thousand years ago, long after the Sidhe were driven underground by the Milesians people the Witches Council, a group formed to protect the humans from the Old Ones, the Fey; Their Gods, determined that the fey were too much of a risk and they gathered all the Witches in the Great Britain nation, forming their powers as one to call upon nature to even the score and they trapped the Sidhe, the greatest of the fey, the biggest threat to humans in human form. No longer able to become pure magic, most were stripped of the ability to shapeshift. They were still strong, beautiful and immortal among other things, but the binding made them nothing better than immortal witches. Strong, but not strong enough to take their rightful places that they had owned before. Angered and unable to do anything about it, constantly wondering if a council spy was about them now they all looked human there was much infighting for some time, eventually they decided to wait. Sit and wait. They never aged, so they moved every few years as not to arouse suspicion. The Sidhe population never spread too far, even if they left Europe they almost always moved to the same area as one another. The Seelie and Unseelie courts were dissolved, making them a stronger unit as need made old grudges foolish to keep. The Witches Council, though it changed and new people came as the elders died off ever kept it’s eyes open on the ranks of the Sidhe. They knew eventually there would come a time when the Sidhe will have had enough and just plain attack. What they didn't know was that by forcing old grudges to be forgotten by the Sidhe they merged the two courts making a stronger, whole unit as opposed to two separate, quarreling units. Even bound as they were the Sidhe were growing stronger than ever before. Now as the year 2008 begins the Sidhe are finally beginning to get back what's theirs in a strong way. The bindings are breaking. The Sidhe are sick of standing idle, for they are warriors after all. They want to come back into their god granted right of being the Old Ones. The powerful ones. They are beginning to stand up to the witches, witches that never knew great power from the fey and never learnt how to use it against them. The question is will the Sidhe tear up Europe along with the Witches? Will they destroy that which they protected for thousands of years? The Sidhe are currently in Wiltshire, England. A plague was enforced by a company. 'If you got the money honey we have your disease'. What if this deathly illness really wasn't a something the world created but instead the parents of our characters went to this company to get what they needed whether it be love, fame, or fortune. However, with their curse, potion or disease, they hurt their children in the process.'If you want it you're gonna bleed, but it's the price you pay' Instead of just the first born being affected, all children who were the offspring of these parents who went to the company were. The children of the parents who didn't go to the company were not affected. This change would kill all daughters either way, but eventually because of the animosity, and the government thinking it was a plague, their vaccine killed many, leading to the death of the rest of the women because it didn't react well with them. Some Men Die, but others are created as Breeders or stay as Non-Breeders. Government engineered ‘a Pairing up’ amendment (breeder/non-breeder): Registration is required so it's known they're a couple legally. Any non-breeders that are sterile must be cleared by a doctor and Moderators. Sterile Non-breeders may be paired together if moderators approve. Any Non-sterile Breeders may be paired with a breeder, must be documented by doctor and approves by Moderators. Adoptions may be available upon request, but ONLY sterile non-breeder couples get first priority. Also Must be approved by Moderators. Definitions: Breeder: Able to carry offspring, they have been changed internally to have a uterus, outer appearances are up to the breeders themselves. They will all still be men with minor differences. They are most commonly sterile, but their are rare occurrences. These occurrences must be discussed with the moderators for permission. Their Sperm is sterile, but not their uterus. Non-Breeder: Not Able to carry offspring, but able to reproduce as usual. Nothing has changed, they are still men, some are considered sterile because of the vaccine, but most are not. It's a 10% chance they're sterile, but this is up to the character and the moderators. PREMISE –adjective 1. deviating from or inconsistent with the common order, form, or rule; irregular; abnormal: Advanced forms of life may be anomalous in the universe. 2. not fitting into a common or familiar type, classification, or pattern; unusual. Welcome to a world influenced by power. There are no superhuman heroes, no dastardly villains here. You may be used to hearing stories of people joining secret teams and forming legions, flying around on planes, but this is not a comic book. This is a generation of gifted humans who, in the past year, have lost their once normal lives. Some of these "mutations" were worse than others, but together they all are united in the fact that their lives will never be the same again. People began to notice things wrong with themselves. Wounds would heal faster, massive headaches would ensue, and suddenly they were in a different room. A man prayed to God that the next time he opened his eyes, his glance wouldn't destroy whatever fell within his gaze. When the American government found out about these "super beings", one thing stood in mutual agreement; they were a threat. Like all threats, they must be contained and exposed of. The general public, perpetually afraid of the different and strange, spawned hate crimes that spread like wild fire. This evolutionary jump wasn't just isolated to the United States. Questions with no anwers are on the tip of everyone's tongue: How, or why; are they connected? Is there a greater purpose, be it dark or light, that they must face? Arguments of the rights belonging to these once normal beings began the hot debate for political meetings. Should they be required to register, and if they had too strong of an ability should they be "dealt with"? Already, many of these "freaks", as some would call them, were using their powers for personal gain, and there was a concern that it would escalate. They would rob, they would cheat, and they would kill to seek vengence. Then there were those who tried to stay out of the limelight, frightened of their powers and the consequences that came with them. And there were those who found these powers as a way to gain attention, using them to save lives and get their name flashed on the evening news. There has also been more signifigant damage. An earthquake has, for the most part, destroyed Sussex, New York. In response to this disaster, a panel was formed. These individuals are now one of the driving powers behind the future of the Anomalous. Some of the memebers would see these super-powered humans destroyed, or rounded up. While others are secretly fighting to keep their own freedom. Senetor Kelly, the main force behind ostracizing the Anomalous, was wounded at his own birthday celebration. Many other people were hurt...some were killed. The blame for this "attack" was placed on this new brand of humanity. Laws were passed, to help protect the citizens of New York. The first, the Heddison Law, prohibits any use of Anomalous ability against any member of city law enforcement. The second is the Couventry Law, restricing the use of power at any group function or public event. For the last month, there has been peace. With no violent outbursts from either side, New York City is holding a collective breath. Who will make the next move? These are The Anomalous - the changed, the powerful, the revolutionized. WANTED Males, as always. Our Wanda mun really wants a Pietro. I personally would like to see someone take Shadowcat, Rogue, Jean Grey and Husk. Perhaps start a medley of generation Xers, since, Monet, Jubilee and Chamber are taken. We would love to see more characters whose powers haven't manifested yet and SO MANY MORE! Ever at the Ready [29 Jan 2008|11:44am] - Mod Journal - RP Comm - OOC Comm - Graphics - - Plot - Rules - Character List - Played-Bys - Team Info - Apply - - Contacts (F-Lock) - Advertise (F-Lock) - It seems Torchwood Four, headed by one Major Charlie Sheppard, had a minor malfunction involving Cardiff's rift. In fact, Torchwood Four is located right near Torchwood Three, or at least it was until it and its team got pulled into another universe. Which is where Lucian Devereaux comes in. It seems that he got a hold of a Time Agent's vortex manipulator in the far future and has been using it at his own pleasure. Well, until it backfired and he was sent to the present and made the rift flux, sucking Torchwood Four into it. Luckily, Major Sheppard wasn't there at the time. Now as for Lucian, he'd been jumping through time randomly and unwillingly as he tried to fix the vortex manipulator. During this time he realized that he'd jump from the present in Cardiff to some different point in time and then back. Along the way, he managed to bring back people with him who shouldn't be during that time, and that caused the rift to go haywire, also bringing people to the present that shouldn't be there: those that are dead, those who aren't born yet, and those in other dimensions. And so, Torchwood realized they needed to work extra hard to try and stop this and thus re-established Torchwood Four, somehow convincing Charlie to head it once more. And that is where we begin... Ever at the ready is a Torchwood/Doctor Who RP that allows for any character from either series (old and new) to be incorporated, as well as original characters! It takes place around the start of season two. We've only just started and we're looking for a majority of the canon cast still, including The Doctor (any of them) and most of Torchwood Three. We're also looking for bad guys and aliens to be hunted down, as well as people to fill up the other Torchwood Teams. If you think you're ready, then we're ready to have you join the team! It's a time of change and upheaval, where new ways of thinking are embraced by many and scoffed at by an equal amount. People are beginning to question the government, wondering if things should be done slightly differently. New kinds of music and fashion is emerging, making more conventional adults complain about the noise and wonder what will happen to the world with such a corrupt generation in the works. There is laughter, happiness, and the world is just as it always should have been. But underneath the seemingly peaceful world, there is a darker plot being stirred about that is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. Every day, more articles come out in the Daily Prophet describing strange attacks, curious deaths, and all out mysterious events that not even the editor can smooth over to not seem interconnected. The people are beginning to wonder, putting the puzzle pieces together. The older witches and wizards are reminded of the dark time of Gridelwald from years ago, praying that history will not go about its usual way of repeating itself. All the while, the not so quiet whisper of a man named Voldemort who prefers to be addressed as the Dark Lord goes through the masses. Mad World is a role-playing game that takes place during the sixth year of the boys that we have come to know and love as the Marauders. We are a book canon compliant game, meaning that now that "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" has come out, we do expect all characters to abide by any and all canon that has been established by JK Rowling. We've been going strong since August of 2007, but we're always looking for more characters and players to join in the fun! Wanted Characters: In general, we would love to see more Alumni, Fourth and Fifth Year students, and Hufflepuffs. We have a severe lacking of them all! Since then, life for mutants has been growing more and more difficult. Left and right, mutants are losing their jobs. Left and right, mutants are being found dead. Left and right, mutants are losing their rights, their families, their homes, their lives. A mutant hospital has been opened, known as "the New York Establishment of Mutantology", a testing facility for Mutantologists (that is, Mutant scientists) for better understanding of abilities, how they got them. Every day mutants are being taken into the hospital for testing, and some of them aren't making it out. A drug has been created, for testing on the mutants. It is believed that the drug will put an end to the abilities these mutants hold. But not all mutants are being stopped. Some are dying from the side effects (however covered up by the Government), some are getting new abilities. The effects of this drug are widely unknown. On November 15, 2020 - a flyer was sent out to every family in America, listing all the laws mutants were expected to follow. If these rules were not followed correctly, the mutant will be punished by hospitalization, or death. What do you think? A few changes have been made to the staff over the summer, the most noticeable being the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor; A Mr. Tom Marvolo Riddle. His new post is widely questioned by the wizarding world; The man has been convicted of murders throughout the seventies, why would Dumbledore hire him to teach young children? Dumbledore simply plays it off saying that he has applied "twice before". That he has not been able to be convicted of anything. Mr. Riddle has, after all, been studying abroad since the 1980's, and is very knowledgeable on his subject. Little did they know that the Fourth Hallow was with them all along. When Hugo Weasley first left for Hogwarts, he had been given a present that his father hadn't received until his seventh birthday. It looked like an ordinary watch. There was nothing spectacular about it and it had been in the Weasley family for ages. The boys were outside near the Great Lake, Hugo swinging the watch idly in his hand when his cousin Roxanne (or Roxy as he thought of her) set off one of her father's latest inventions on the boys. In Hugo's attempt to get away from the billowing and smelly smoke, the watch struck rock and popped open for the first time in centuries. There was a rip in time and space; a tesseract. The Lowdown: In this game not only can you play the epilogue children and acid babies from JK Rowling's notes and interviews, but also any character who may have died during the books. The children are sent back in time to the year 2000 and become stuck there with their parents even though their parents are of the same age. The Tesseract causes the dead to come back to life and no one knows how to stop it. Jumble that up with a release of prisoners from Azkaban and you have holy plot batman. We already have obscure hard to find characters cast like Dolores Umbridge, Gellert Grindelwald, Minerva McGonagall and Marietta Edgecombe! Love has been found between the two puppies and James is ever so close to snagging Lily's heart away from her. Love has also been found on the other side between the famous Black sisters and their now correctly betrothed beaus. But in the middle of all this love and snow, both sides of the uprising are getting stronger. Death Eaters are recruiting more and more and Albus Dumbledore is on the verge of making the famous Order of the Phoenix to make the odds more even. While the Hogwarts students are safe away from Hogwarts (well as safe as anyone can be around pranksters and bullies) their parents are in the real world working their tails off in the Ministry, Diagon Alley, and privately owned stores to keep their hopes alive and the hopes of forming a better wizarding community for tomorrow. So who will become a member of the Order of the Phoenix or a future slave to the Death Eater will and what will be the elements to trap poor Peter Pettigrew in a spiral of despair! [29 Jan 2008|09:54pm] Nearly spring and where is Harry Potter? Hogwarts keeps their ear out for any news while they deal with the horror of Snape and the Carrows. Freedoms they took for granted are stolen from them and many friends are even missing because of their blood status. The only ones getting a break are the Purebloods that get a kick out of torture and pain. Without the Trio, the small amount of D.A.s left in school try with almost no effect to stop the terror destroying their school and with what secrecy they can afford, they recruit new members as much as humanly possible during the small amounts of socialization allowed by their new Headmaster along with covertly spreading propaganda, including painting messages on the wall. Those outside lucky enough to be picked up by the Order are moved to there own personal prison stuck deep in Muggle London being taught and protected by Graduates and Order members. The ministry has been infiltrated. Slowly the corruption is being spread to every nook and cranny of Magical establishments. Not one single person is safe, not even Purebloods. How long can the students and Order hold off before completely being taken over by the evil that runs among them? [29 Jan 2008|11:26pm] threehourtour Since June 2007, letscruise has been home to characters ages 18 and up who work on a state of the art cruise ship owned by the fictional Serendipity Cruise Lines, Inc. The ship travels around the world, visiting ports in the U.S. and Canada, as well as on other continents, including Africa and Australia. On board the ship, the employees make friends and enemies, fall in and out of love, and experience life at sea while also holding down a job, impressing their bosses, and keeping up with their journals, which the cruise line provides for them. Available positions include everything from physicians to plumbers to gift shop sales assistants to waiters, dancers, security guards and more. Adds for cruise ship workers take place every 3 apps and every Thursday. Beginning this month, January 2008, serendipitycorp will become home to a new crop of characters. This time, they will be employees of Serendipity Cruise Line's corporate headquarters, which is stationed in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. These characters will have contact with the characters on the ship via their journals, but they will also have their own issues, fights, romances, and friendships developing in their offices. Corporate positions include vice presidents in charge of various aspects of the company, departmental managers, secretaries, receptionists, typists, temps, interns and more. We have 2 accepted corporate characters already, and a few more on hold. We're looking to open this community as soon as 10 characters have been accepted.
