What if a falsified Prophecy had been passed to him instead? The year is 1995, When Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts. A few changes have been made to the staff over the summer, the most noticeable being the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor; A Mr. Tom Marvolo Riddle. His new post is widely questioned by the wizarding world; The man has been convicted of murders throughout the seventies, why would Dumbledore hire him to teach young children? Dumbledore simply plays it off saying that he has applied "twice before". That he has not been able to be convicted of anything. NO SUCH PLACE: An Original Fantasy RPG [16 Jan 2008|07:32pm]                     “ . . . All that was left in Pandora's box was hope.” During the 21st century, a global pandemic consumed the world. Due to its devastating nature, they dubbed it the “Pandora Virus.” No one had time to truly study it or to counter the rapid spreading of PV. The virus tore through the world’s population, killing almost one-third of humanity in its first month alone. Countries everywhere grew panicked, believing it to be a work of biological terrorism. Nation stood against nation, and most of the earth was laid to waste within just a handful of months by the combined effects of nuclear war and the Pandora Virus. Survivors immune to the virus found the world uninhabitable, and many of them perished due to radiation poisoning or famine. There were others, though. Others who inhabited this planet along with human beings, but they had been in hiding for many centuries. Praeternaturals, they were — legendary beings and creatures believed to be nothing more than myth. All of them were also biologically immune to the Pandora Virus. With the foresight of the oracle named Euryale, praeternaturals learned of what was to come shortly before it began and prepared for the preordained onslaught. They built safe havens in hidden areas across the world that were protected heavily by magic. Taking in humans and praeternaturals alike before the war, these communities provided a stable living environment for the survival of all species. One such safe haven is an ancient land once inhabited by elves. It has been renovated into a sanctuary and renamed to Elysium. Located in the modern-day Republic of Macedonia near Lake Ohrid, it was once a part of Greece. Now, it is a part of the process to one day rebuild the world. Original Supernatural RPG [16 Jan 2008|11:08pm] Background Shape shifters, vampires, and witches walk among us, undetected for centuries thanks to their cardinal law: Never let the humans know we exist. Of course, such a law is rather difficult to keep in a world where humans and supernatural creatures live side by side so there were stories and legends about fantastic, powerful creatures that stalked the night and walked throughout the daylight hours. Yet, despite the stories, few humans truly believe that such creatures existed. All the better, thought the monsters. All the better to survive, to live, to rule the secret underworld. So they have existed, living with the humans, some even evolving to match the modern world but their world was not always peaceful. In all the major cities throughout the world, various species battle for control. The wolves own New York and London, the cats own Cairo and Los Angeles, the witches rule Dublin, Boston, Brighton, Salem. Yet, it is the vampire clans that hold the most power in the world, running major cities such as Tokyo, Hong Kong, Toronto, Berlin, Paris, and San Francisco to name a few. Yet each group wants more and will use their members to get it, whether the members want to be a part of the war or not. Premise The vampires took control of San Francisco after 1906 but before then the city belonged to the witches and even now the witches scheme to take control once more. In the city there is an uneasy tension between the groups, especially as the Nocturnal clan has started to allow more werewolves in the city, upsetting the were-cats. At the moment there is peace but each group schemes and manipulates the other, their members caught in the middle of age-old grudges, mind games, furious brawls, and romantic entanglements. It is up to the leaders of the groups to moderate their members and keep things under control. A difficult thing to do when the supernatural world seems to be at the edge of an internal war that is likely to spill out into the human world. But where do you stand? Are you going to help your clan retain peace? Or are you out for blood and a slice of your own personal glory? Or perhaps you'd rather sit back and manipulate the others from behind the scenes?
