Luke had no idea if they would have been able to find the door on their own, without help, but he was glad they'd never need to find out. As he turned the knob he knew what was waiting for them on the other side was going to be very, very bad; it didn't matter. He was single-mindedly focused on getting to Wren (and, by extension, Evie) and after that, getting the hell out. Those were the things that mattered. This place could drag out his deepest, darkest fears and he'd cut down every single one because nothing, nothing, was going to stop him from saving Wren.
As soon as they stepped through the door behind them disappeared, leaving them in a world that seemed suddenly devoid of color. Grey, cold, thick fog and what he figured was snow falling from the sky. He knew immediately that his abilities were gone; he could feel it. But, that didn't matter either. He'd killed his way across the country just fine without any mutations, hadn't he? And this time, he'd be killing real monsters. No moral dilemma needed.
He wore sneakers, easy to run in, pants, and a hoodie, with gloves protecting his hands. In the backpack slung over his shoulder was some food and water, extra batteries for the flashlight he'd brought, ammo, and a couple extra knives. There was a gun, a Glock, on his hip, a standard issue police baton on the opposite side, and a hunting knife in his pocket. Was he prepared? Hell yeah, he was.
Luckily, they had Helena's map, though the fog and the snow made it hard to see beyond a few feet in front of them. He just hoped the girls could make it to the apartments on their own. Luke was silent as they crossed the bridge, into the town and past the sign that welcomed them to Silent Hill. It'd been a while since he'd played any of the video games, but he remembered some things, and he'd looked up some videos on Youtube on his way to the hotel. Everything seemed quiet, for now, and the streets appeared empty, but he knew that could change very, very quickly.
"When you hear the sirens, that's when you know shit's about to go down." Luke glanced over at Jack. "But keep an eye out. There are monsters around when it's like this, too." And he tried to keep an eye out for any random objects, places keys might be hiding. The more they had, the better a chance there was that one would get them out.
