Does this have something to do with the [...] registration [...] thing? I don't need details, sir. Just a yes or no, is fine.

What do you know about registration?

Bucky told me about it. About Stark being on one side, and me being on the other—him for it, me against it, and all the damage that does.

[Damn it, Bucky.] Does Stark know?

Steve, listen to me. Under no circumstances can you tell Tony about it.

It's not a matter of what he would and wouldn't do. None of us [...wasn't she not going to talk about this?] acted the way we would have. It's what it did to him afterward. [All of them, really, but Tony had it the worst.]

He and one of his best friends were leading a damn war against one another. [Oh, yeah. You also died, Steve. Very nice to meet you, by the way.] You can imagine how he felt.

Okay. [...] Well, I don't plan on dying here. So that's something we can avoid, at least. [Look, a joke.]

I'm glad you're here. We spend most of our time at Stark's. Would you like me to brief you on what's been going on?

[If there's one thing she's good at, it's ignoring her weaker emotions in favor of barreling onto what was easier to digest.]

Skipped the mansion and went straight to the tower, huh? Lay it on me.

I'd almost prefer a mansion. Everything here is very [...] geometric. You could cut your legs on this coffee table in here.

Dr. Banner and Stark can likely give you more info than I could, given that they've been around longer than I have, but, just recently: there was an unexplained "pulse" explosion at Oscorp, that affected people in the surrounding areas, though the news is downplaying it. We've seen a number of people pop up on these journals, anonymously, saying they've developed this ability or that—mind-reading, water control and generation, etc.

Thor had us keeping Loki in Stark Tower, as he wasn't safe on Asgard, but just the other day took him back to Asgard for a [...] because of the Marauders, who are attacking several worlds. We know Loki will likely come back, no matter how stringent Thor is in his watch of his brother, and Stark and Banner are meant to be concocting contingency plans for that inevitability.

Dr. Banner [...] has friends from another [...] world, called DC. Their world is dangerous, as dangerous as ours and much less forgiving. He's emotionally close to one of the women there, and there has been some conflict in the past about [...] our responsibilities.

Sounds like a reverse Scarlet Witch. [Did he know Scarlet Witch? Err.]

Loki is a constant pain in the ass. Do we know anything else about the Marauders?

Conflict like what, inability to be an Avenger?

[... No. He does not.] Who?

They're pillagers, plunderers, attack easy targets and leave ruin in their wake, but waging war against an army is not anything they're good at, as far as I understand.

[...] Something like that.

Nevermind.

Oh, good. I could use something to punch.

[Well, whatever. She wasn't going to press.] We had Avengers who went to space now and again. Guessing that's not the same thing.

[Squint.]

They should be [...] taken care of by Thor and Loki. Away from here. On whatever world it is they're on now.

The ambiguity of the [...] other worlds makes it hard to [...] know who we should first serve.

I go to the gym every day. You're welcome to come with me.

I was too harsh on Dr. Banner. I got angry with him for rushing to help Ms. K without giving thought to where that would leave the fate of this world, given we had Loki sitting beneath us.

I'm more likely to break the equipment than I am to get a good work out, but I appreciate the offer anyway.

[Yup. He was Steve, all right.] On the bright side, at least he's not the first Avenger to do something like that.

Do you guys have a battle simulation room? I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to help develop a sophisticated VR.

Sorry. Sometimes it's hard to remember not all the Avengers are military trained. I get it.

Good question. Let's ask him.

Ma' Sir, I understand making a bold move, even under orders. It is important to think for oneself. But, it's also important to consider the consequences.
