quicklog: st. john and liam
Who: John and Liam
What: a meeting in the woods
Where: Tales world, near the Nightmare Before Christmas Doors in the woods
When: nowish
Warnings/Rating: TBD.

[Traveling was on the menu. Maybe it was getting completely drunk on other people's memories, or robbing a bank, or talking to that woman about Vietnam, but he was mobile. If nobody wanted to tell him why he was alive a fourth time, if nobody was going to make demands upon his person, he was going to start living it up again.

Whether he'd end up being good or bad this time was to be determined.

The door he found himself in this time was surprising. It actually took him a while to figure out that he didn't have his powers. He always fell into the weaker end of the power spectrum, and he never had used his powers for profit until Mystique recruited him. It was strange as he walked through these woods, a lifeless lighter in his hands.

Was this a better or worse fate?]

[John's eyes widened, and he tried to cajole.] Come on, now. What's a little gossip between us?

[There was another shake of his head, the tension that was running through him causing the tendons in his neck to become more prominent.] I can't. I can't. I'll get in trouble.

[Experiments, and this guy looked spooked. John was making a few assumptions. This Marvel had seemed so boring, but maybe he had just been too into his own existential questions.] Trouble with who? Nobody's here but us wolves.

[Again with the press of his lips as he shook his head.] Want to tell you, trust me. But I can't. If I could, I would, but it isn't possible.

Not possible. Blackmail? Stomp one for yes, two for no. [John raised his eyebrows, annoyed, but he wasn't going to hurt this guy for information. He wasn't that mean, right?]

[If only it were that easy.] I'm not allowed. That's all I can say, honest.

[Well. John would just have to do his own digging.] Whatever, mate. Good talking to you, then. [This conversation was over.]

[He didn't say anything for a while, glancing off to the side as he pulled his shirt and jacket back on, and then he made his way back into the thicket where he came from.]
