You listen here. Man doesn't see me unless he thinks I'm Lore. When I'm me, it's like that hotel room and I'm real invisible. We just talked a mile about how he didn't want the woman he bedded with at that party to ever talk to him again, and he slipped in thinking of me as a sister in there too, and now there's this, and that stay away was real loud and real clear. I'm real raw on account of seeing Lore dead, and I can't stay. I know Graham's got hard times. I appreciate that plenty, but I'm not made of damn stone. I'm going. Might not be permanent, but it's happening, no matter what you say.

that's the fucking problem? yeah, he's seen her in you, he fucks up and forgets she's dead, but the fucking problem isn't that, if you can fucking believe it. it's not Lorelei. it's you. it's that he doesn't just see her that it bothers him and he feels guilty. if the man could fucking live off of wishful thinking, he would, yeah? he says you're like his sister because he still wears his goddamn wedding ring. he feels guilty because he thinks he's still fucking married. shit, I've known him for more than half my goddamn life. only other person he ever looked at like he looks at you is Lore and it's not because he thinks you're her, yeah? it's different from the look with Lore but it's fucking close.

I tried to scare you off, yeah? in zombies? a part of it was Lorelei, but not all of it.

It bothers him on account of it not being her, but it isn't me, neither. He's just fussed because he manages to confuse someone he doesn't feel a thing for with the love of his life, and it eats him rotten. I can see it in his face, can't you? That he's asking himself how he could hurt Lore by doing that? By getting it wrong, and whatever you think you're seeing, it's just that carrying over.

Not that it matters worth a lick. I spent the night with that man, and I didn't recognize him a bit. I haven't seen that man since I was just a little girl, all darling and sweetheart and flirting like you wouldn't believe, but I should've realized. Maybe part of me did, but who knows, and all it means is I got to go find my own way. Siblings move on. It's what they do.

Whatever reason you had for chasing me clear, you were right in doing it. You said it again a day ago, and I think you got that man's welfare at heart in every damn thing you do. You're just being sweet to me now, and I appreciate it, but fact remains that Graham isn't going to look at me without thinking bout the things he said and did. You know it well as I do, and he needs to just forget. It's why we were going to run whoever he was with off for him, wasn't it?

I never said I wanted Graham loving me. Don't go putting words in my mouth. Shane, the man meant it when he said the sister thing. You ask him, he'll tell you same. I don't want him coming after me. This isn't me running so he'll chase, it's me running because it damn well hurts to be run off like something that don't matter. That's me being a hypocrite, because we were planning on doing it so some poor sap of a girl, but I remember every damn thing he said, and I remember every damn thing he did, and I need to not remember that for a spell, because it wasn't ever meant for me.
