You do realize classes will be starting soon. There has been no sign of the Headmaster, none of my friends are here. In fact, it very much looks like classes will be full of students who know us for greatness we have not earned or tragedy we have not lived, and that is only if classes start at all. Its depressing, James.

I suppose, but that's only if you look at everything in terms of loss. The war's over, Evans. Imagine that. The people we know have all died, fought for a cause, but they've not been forgotten, and there's now peace. We don't have to die in two years' time. I'm sorry, but I can't call that depressing, no matter the nearness of the start of classes. Surely, it will all be figured out in time -- and that time I'll take. You're not alone. [Scribble.] Sure, I've got my mates and what do I know. But, Evans, even if you don't want to hang around my lot, you ought give yourself some credit. You're a friendly girl, smart, beautiful, all that. You'll have friends in no time and not only for unearned greatness.

It may surprise you to learn I've no siblings. I understand hols being a lonely time. They were for me as well, until Sirius started to come around. But there will be so many new people here, new things to do. I find it all rather exciting.
