Woman posted public bout a blanket and something stuffed. You get it back for me, without saying it's mine?

Thanks. She's a co-worker, and someone who lived with Graham and Shane, and I don't want my business aired all over. Plus, she'll want to talk over feelings. I ain't interested in virtual hugging.

That makes sense. I'll tell her it's mine. I gotta PO Box I get stuff sent to. There or work. I'll make sure she sends em.

She says she'll send it today. When you come get Zoe, I'll give you the PO Box key.

Actually, maybe I gotta favor. If Stone don't let me come and I follow her, I'll let you know where we end up and if stuff goes south, maybe your friends can help? Think they would?

One will. Other might not be as inclined, but the one willing's good enough to take care of anything needs taking care of.

Why ain't you just bringing backup?

Maybe that's a better idea. I just don't want Stone to hear me call it in, if I do.

Just don't reckon I see the point in not hauling this man in soon as he breathes within range.

I gotta get close enough he don't run or she don't help him run. I gotta have more details than I got right now, to know the best way to do it. If she lets me come, it's easy, so long as he comes alone, but who knows if he will. But, if she says no and I gotta follow, I don't wanna tip her off on the way by calling in anybody.

Think it's real foolish not to have a team waiting on that man, but I'm just fire. What do I know?

She's a homicide detective. This woman's got a meet with serial killer, and she ain't telling her Captain or having a team come? That's real dumb, Martin. Dumb and strange, and it looks plenty bad. She'd lose her badge, anyone got wind.

I know. But what we got right now is all circumstantial [...] and I don't want nobody losing their badge. They got history. [...] But either way, we're getting the guy tonight, if I got anything to do with it.

If the ADA ain't involved, you can't bring the man in, honey. You got a warrant for his arrest? We both know how it works. You're cutting Stone slack. You're fond of her, something long those lines, and she's circumventing the system. I just hope it works out right.

I know, but if this is our only chancea getting near him, I'm taking it. Screw warrants. If I gotta, I'll hold him on trespassing, on littering. I'll figure it out.

I like due process just fine, and I think we could get this guy without putting a bullet in him, Martin. We got victims made it out alive, and there has to be a damn money trail for six folks carrying women into central park for him. You don't burn women like he does without some place to do it. We could get him, but we just need financials, and we could get them if Stone went to her superior, instead of taking this on as some real personal grudge match. And this is coming from someone who don't give much a damn who lives or dies, but this ain't necessary.

I understand forensics and criminals, Murphy. But she don't even got a name on the guy. I need to go in and check my own hunch, make sure the guy even exists in this world. You get that? But, we don't got time for that now.
