[On a hunch, after seeing something that looked like a journal at the apartment. He's been gone for about six hours when the message comes through.]
Left to help someone. Went [...] differently than expected. Will be back soon. Safe?
[locked to steve r]
Your friend, Wanda. It's not good.

[On a similar hunch.] Had to leave to help someone. I'll be back to check on him as soon as I can.

Hey.

[...] Know where the mutant school is?

[Bucky didn't so much 'wake up' as sit bolt upright, see the machines and the gleam of sterile metal that equated 'hospital', which equated 'doctors', and he swiped toward an unseen presence on his right so hard he nearly slid to the floor.
But she was out of his reach, and, still in a moment of blind disorientation, he grasped the edge of the table and pushed down a wave of nausea. It didn't smell like a hospital, but it had that antiseptic glare and the dull, regular chirping of monitoring. But the room was spinning - that his to the head when he struck the wall, had to be - and his left arm was no longer responding at all. But there was something on his face, a mask. He reached up to claw it off, but when his hand fell on it, he stilled. He calmed. He stopped moving.
Then he dropped his hand from his face, leaning forward and blinking, like it would make the calm go away again. What was that? It was always whiplash inside his head, adrenaline and panic one second and slow heartbeat and respiratory control the next. A trigger or something, had to be. Conditioning not to take the face mask off, so no one could identify him? Affirmative.]
