Who: Logan and open
When: After his most recent conversation with Gracey
Where: The gazebo
What: Not a happy chicken
Sometimes it seemed like the weather just wanted to mock you. About two minutes after he'd left the house it had started raining. Pouring, was probably a better word for it. Already soaked to the skin, he'd sought shelter in the gazebo, sitting down with his back resting against one of the wooden beams holding up the roof.
He could imagine this place decorated with lights and flowers, like his Dad told him Aunty Heather had done for his wedding. In fact, he was doing his best to think about, or imagine anything other than what had been happening with Gracey. She didn't understand. She couldn't. And she was angry with him for something she shouldn't be angry at him for. But he had always loved her. But he thought maybe Ash and Gabriel were right. Maybe she wasn't right for him right now. Maybe he wasn't right for her. And he really did care for Bea, despite it all.
But what she'd said had hurt more than he'd been able to explain. And so he'd done the only thing he could think of. He'd let her go. He was still her friend, he always would be. And he still loved her. He doubted he'd ever get over that. But he'd decided he was going to have to try, for his own sanity.
Which wasn't so easy, and was probably a reasonable explanation for why he was currently sitting outside in the middle of a rain storm, glad his hair and glasses were still dripping rain down his face. Bea had been right when she'd called him a dork.
