Laura could sense the sadness ebbing off of her son, could have for miles, and through brick walls. But she had only been outside herself. She stopped long enough to stuff a big fluffy towel into a napsack, before coming to his side.
She did't speak a word as she stepped in from the rain, into the gazebo. Just like she knew he was sad, she could trail him to the ends of the earth. There was no way he could ever hide from her. Even if he wanted too.
Slipping up behind him, she pulled the towel out and covered his head and shoulders. Scrubbing his hair before leaving it for him to tend too.
