Who: Arthur and Gwen
What: A fresh reunion, now that Arthur's an adult again
When: Morning
Where: mainly Gwen's cabin, at least at first
Rating: Medium-low-ish?
As usual, Arthur was up well after the first rays of dawn had given way to the late morning.
Far from usual, he awakened with the sense that something was not right.
Fingers groping for his sword as subtly as possible, in case what he was sensing was an intruder, he flew out of bed when the weapon was not where he expected it to be. His confusion intensified when the room was also not the one he expected-- and suddenly, it all came back. Ridgeway, the cabin... he was a child. He did not feel like a child. Looking down at himself, he gave a laugh, so glad was he to discover that he was back to his normal self again.
And then, he began to remember the events of the last few days. Wincing, he realized he owed his roommates an apology for his noisy behavior that first morning... he owed Rose a thank you for the meals and the clothes... catching sight of a wooden sword, he made a mental note to thank Guy for that; it had been fun to romp through the woods with Robin... oh god, did they really have a contest to see who could piss highest on a tree? He rubbed his forehead. Hopefully, Robin would be as inclined to forget that as he was (he probably would be, since Arthur had won)...
They had played Rescue-the-Princess.
With Gwen.
Guinevere was here.
And he remembered which cabin was hers. Quickly jumping into his clothes, happy to strap his sword belt on again, he tried to contain his excitement as he took the stairs two at a time. An apple from the kitchen would once again tide him over until he could get a better breakfast, and he had finished it and tossed the core under a bush for the wildlife by the time he reached her door.
Before knocking, he reminded himself to calm down-- or, to at least pretend that he was not thoroughly elated to see her. He still intended to find a way back to Camelot for all of them soon, and needed to maintain that distance from her. Also, Morgana and Merlin were here, and while Merlin knew of Arthur's feelings for Guinevere, Morgana did not, nor could she.
Composing himself, he raised his hand and knocked.
