She smiled as he pulled her seat out for her, thanking him quietly as she sat. However, she also kept a firm eye on every move he made in the small kitchen. She was not going to risk him doing something that would not end well. However so far he seemed to be doing well and when he placed the simple plate, for her in making and him in types of food, in front of her she could not help but beam proudly at him. Okay so she could have made that when she was six, but that didn't matter.
They sat in silence for a moment, Gwen taking a bite of the toast and having a moment of delight when she tasted the jam. They had something extremely similar back home only not as sweet and she still savoured every bite of jam she had whenever she ate it. It just had one of the most incredible tastes. At his thanks, she quickly swallowed down what she was eating, shaking her head as she reached for the orange juice to clear her mouth.
"There's no need to thank me, I was more than willing. I was not going to allow you to be worried or scared, especially as a child."
