Who: Isaac Callahan & Avery Cooper
Where: Governor's Mansion
What: catching up and breaking shit together (therapy for people who can't 'feelings' good)
When: October 9th, 12:30pm
Isaac couldn't even remember the last time he talked with Avery but did know it'd been way too long since he checked in on her. All it took was a few snarky private messages and they'd agreed to meet up today. He was glad that she was at least doing well enough to come see him. She was sort of like a hedge hog, all prickly and hard to get close to. But even if he'd been pricked more often than not, Isaac wasn't done trying to figure her out. The thing about them was, they never really talked about important things. There was usually some sassing back and forth but most of the time, they kind of just hung out and didn't say anything at all. They were able to share those weird companionable silences (not the awkward and uncomfortable kind where you were waiting on the edge of your seat, wondering if the other person was going to say something or if they were waiting for you to break the silence -- or even worse was when people felt the need to fill every moment with forced small talk). When Isaac first met Avery he'd been in pretty rough shape, still neck deep in his grief about his wife, and something about her radiated the same kind of sadness so they'd gravitated towards each other ever since. Backpack filled with his normal wasteland supplies slung over his shoulders and a baseball bat in hand, Isaac leaned against the wall surrounded the Governor's Mansion, waiting for Avery to arrive. Their meeting probably wouldn't be anything more than smashing some shit and making fun of each other, but it would be just what the both of them needed. |
