With All The Saints He May Rejoice
This is the retread for [info]tweedygal and [info]pendulumchanges

It's an AU by LJ's burnitbackwards. I don't want to give anything away but I'd love to discuss characterizations in the comments if anyone wants to. :)

WITH ALL THE SAINTS HE MAY REJOICE
part one
part two
part three
part four
part five
part six
part seven
part eight
part nine
part ten
alternate ending #1
alternate ending #2

IMO, this is an intense story that's at times hard to read but I hope you'll all give it a chance. I thought it was fascinating and a great roller coaster of a read. Oh and let's not forget how freakin' HOT it is!

*flails*

Best line in a fic possibly ever:
A gay atheist priest telling a gay kid that God hates gay sex?

Isn't it brilliant?

It's more than brilliant. Right now...maybe it's just because I'm right in the middle of it and am so wrapped up in it, it's one of the best AU stories I've ever read or even HEARD of.

"God doesn't want you to be miserable, Brian."

Brian nods and forces an uncertain smile. What if He does, though? What if this is what Brian deserves?

Geez...I would never in my wildest dreams written Brian as a priest. But I *LOVE* it and I love how Justin is the aggressor (for want of a better word) in the relationship and that *he's* the one with faith while Brian says he doesn't even believe in God.

*chuckles* I feel like I could talk about this thing for AGES.

I think what I like about it so much is that it's so unique. I mean come on, Brian's a PRIEST. hee

This is sooooooooo IC that it hurts. It's exactly them. She's such a genius. Sometimes I forget just how great some of these old fics were until I see someone reading them for the first time and then I remember my initial love for the story.

I'm fairly new to the QaF fandom (seriously, I've only been in fandom about a month and a half) But I've already become very particular in what I read (came from a fandom chock full o bad!fic, so I'm a bit wary) For the most part I don't like QaF AUs because fandom is just Teh Awsomes, but I've seen this fic over and over and EVERYWERE so finnaly I broke down and read it.

Oh. My. GOD!!!!!

First of all, I cannot beleive how very in character this is! And really, my first instinct is Priest!Brian? IC? pfft, good one. But its true. Brian is very very brian and Justin is just. SO. JUSTIN!!! All the deviences in Brian's demeanor in this fic from cannon are perfectly explainable from the different experiences he's had. God know, Brian has a bit of a self-sacrificing martyr complex (that he would never, ever admit to) and it just makes sence that Brian without Mikey and his Liberty Avenue safe-haven foster family, with life as he knows it over, that he would be vunerable to become a priest.

And yet, he's still Brian. He thinks and acts like Brian. He loves sex and sneaks to the baths every now and again (wich *breaths sigh of releife* is good, because Celibate!Brian is just too creapy for words.) I love the Idea of Brian being and Athiest priest, because that is just *so* him.

Not to mention that the entire thing is just to hot for words. I mean, OMG. The *wrongness* of it all and the taboo and the blasphemy is just so so lovely. I actualy ended up lovething this fic to death. A very, VERY pleasant surprise, to say the least!

Hi and Welcome! :D

First, I can proudly state that you'll find no bad!fic here...you might find something you don't like but it won't be bad. lol

Now, as to this fic. YES. I agree with everything you said. Who knew someone could actually make priest!Brian believable? When I read about Micheal's death and Brian's part, there was zero question in my head when he decided to become a priest and of course he'd be an atheist.

As for the hotness. flajds;fj;adsf Justin jerking Brian off against the closed door in a children's classroom when he's there for soup kitchen duty makes DIE.

I'm so glad you took a chance on this and that you liked it. :)

and omgomg the fucking in Joan's house!!! But that whole Justin jerking Brian off thing was just so hot because of the hesitency and Brian's constant "No no no bad bad BAD" its so so bad and SO. VERY. GOOD.

I'm glad I took a chance on it too! thank you so much for reccing it!

Jesusfuckingchristonafreakingstick.

First, I almost died from Brian sucking on Justin's fingers in the confessional. I'm not Catholic, don't know anything about it, but DAMN! that *had* to be full of the wrong. But it was SOOOOOO so so so right.

Then that crucifixion dream freaked the hell out of me and I still wasn't wholly recovered from that when I read the first alternate ending and I will *NEVER* think of jelly shoes the same way again.

I can't even think right now. Holy damn. I'm sticking by best AU ever at this point. I'm still so turned on by atheist priest!Brian that I feel like I should go to confession myself.

I can't wait for [info]pendulumchanges to read this...

So so amazing and hot.

Oh...I also *LOVE* how Justin can do NO wrong in Joan's eyes.

Justin as Brian's savior? CANON. Without question, right?

Oh dear Bunny, I loved you endlessly before, but introducing me to this has made you my goddess!

I'm just up to chapter 8 of WATSMHR; need to stop for now but OMG, breathless
doesn't begin to describe my state of mind. I was hesitant at first, (was raised Catholic and left it behind years ago) but have learned to trust writers here who say 'give it a chance'...sooo worth it.

So here's the thing with me and this fic: I love it, with its insane hotness and intensity and resolute IC-ness. And yet, I always feel so totally bad and, like, dirty for loving it as much as I do, which is likely a direct result of having grown up Catholic and gone to Catholic schools and whatnot. It's like, I'm reading it in my own home, but I kind of think in the back of my mind that I'm back in school and the teacher/nun (yes, I had several nun teachers in my time) is going to peer over my shoulder and see it and make me go to confession for reading ridiculously hot gay porn. And now I'm thinking about the part with Justin and Brian in the confessional and--GUH!

Anywho.

I don't even know if any one will read this comment, but I had to get this out of my brain and onto the interwebs.
