This time everything was different.
They were driving a different car. Brian’s brand-new, quite spectacular looking cerulean blue Porsche.
It was summer, the convertible top was open.
And they both knew exactly where they were going.
They were on their way to a country house just on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, their new home that they had chosen together and not yet told anyone about.
They didn’t go there for Brian to propose and Justin to accept because they were already wearing their rings, after speaking their vows in the privacy of the loft.
They went there for their honeymoon.

Brian is a not nice person. He makes sure no one thinks of him as considerate or, God forbid, thoughtful. But Justin brings out the worst in him, at least that’s Brian’s explanation for his choice of traveling companions after Justin’s passing mention of missing both movie marathons and real lasagna.
Between Debbie’s bathroom breaks and Daphne’s taste in music, the drive takes an extra two hours and leaves him with a blinding headache that only goes away after three of the five thousand blowjobs Justin owes him. Flying them back first class is an act of self-preservation, not kindness. |
