Lost in deep thought, Justin carefully finished packing his newest painting and placed the crate next to his apartment door, ready for the shipping company to pick up in two hours.
He hoped Brian would get the message.
Having literally poured his soul onto the canvas, he had created an unsettling conglomeration of vivid colors and textures.
Four lonely years in New York… he couldn’t bear it anymore.
Brian carefully unwrapped his new painting. It was fucking brilliant.
Mesmerizing.
Disturbing.
There was no doubt in his mind.
Blindly picking up his phone and hitting speed dial, he said “Come home!” |

Blake knew that Ted’s passions extended beyond his work. Still, at parties, several pairs of eyes would roll when he enthused about subjects like “riskless arbitrage.”
When they had married and Blake signed papers uniting their finances, he questioned several investments. Keeping Justin’s paintings in storage seemed…cold. Even after Ted explained that in twenty years, they would be worth several times their initial price, Blake felt unsettled.
It wasn’t until they were in bed and Ted had whispered promises to him of “never having to worry” and “you’ll always be okay” that Blake remembered.
Ted loved Blake best of all. |
