The first time Justin’s screams ripped Brian from his own restless slumber, he longed for the nights he slept alone.
Anger flooded his soul as he rocked Justin in his arms, impotent rage at the homophobic world that condoned the damage inflicted as invited, intertwined with the overwhelming guilt at the violence his own arrogance had incited.
Months later, in the pre-dawn darkness, the memory of that scream would pierce the loft’s silence and Brian would reach over only to find the empty space where Justin used to be.
He wondered how well violin music worked as a sleep aid. |

"Scream is not a fucking classic. Frankenstein is a classic, Dracula is a classic, hell even...ummm." Brian's thoughts dissolve as Justin deftly unfastens his jeans, and leans in nuzzling his ear.

Waiting for Brian to arrive fashionably late, Justin drinks Chivas Regal, while Emmett downs a Cosmo through a straw. They’re dishing on the tricks they’ve had, laughing so hard Justin’s stomach muscles hurt.
Since the bombing, there’s a spirit at Babylon that’s greater than before. Damned if these queers won’t celebrate the lives of those who died here and those who survive to fight on.
