Lindsay leaned back in the bath and immersed her hair in the water. She could still, barely, hear Gus grizzling with his teething and JR crying.
She slid away into that special place that Mothers' go when they have time alone.
About five minutes later her brain registered that there was another presence in the room. Sitting up with a splash, she saw Mel in the doorway.
“They’re both asleep.”
“Good”
“Do you need any help.”
“My hair needs washing.”
Mel walked over and picked up the bottle of shampoo.
“Do I need to join you?”
