Title: Making It Real
Author: [info]kay_jay_dee
Beta: The lovely [info]etextraordinary
Author's Notes: This was inspired by the 'New York Marriage Equality' prompt, but written after the prompt closed. I decided to post it anyway.

Brian wraps his arm around Justin from behind, kissing him below his ear. But he pauses when he sees what Justin's working on.

"I thought you stopped painting banners when you were eighteen."

Justin doesn't stop tracing the red letters - EQUALITY FOR ALL. "It's for a good cause."

"It's for self-hating fags who want to be straight."

Justin turns around in Brian's arms, looking him in the eye. "You don't want to get married?"

"We are married."

"To us. But don't you want to make it real?" Justin asks, the sunlight glinting off the ring on his right hand.

I meant to write this for the New York Marriage Equality Challenge, but as you can see it took me awhile.

“If you still lived in New York, we could be married right now,” Brian said casually at the same time he twisted his fingers inside Justin.

Justin bit back a moan. “Yeah,” he gasped. “Then I could be having phone sex with my husband instead of getting fucked right now.”

Brian laughed and taking the hint, replaced his fingers with his dick. Justin wrapped his legs around Brian’s waist, urging him deeper, then grabbed his hair and pulled him down for a rough kiss.

“I guess there’s something to be said for living in sin,” Brian panted against his lips.

Condom: Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force

Ted loosened his collar and resisted the urge to fan himself with the program. He couldn’t believe no one had thought to endow an air conditioner.

He forgot all about the heat as he watched Blake walk across the stage and accept his diploma. He knew Blake couldn’t hear him, but he clapped until his hands hurt.

Blake insisted he didn’t want a fuss made over his graduation, but he deserved one. Rather than arguing, Debbie and Emmett had simply arrived at the condo with food and decorations. Ted couldn’t wait to get Blake home and celebrate with their family.

Condom: The Trevor Project

Brian had never been ashamed of working for Stockwell. Business was business, after all. But that didn’t mean he didn’t enjoy seeing him exposed for the homophobic prick that he was.

Brian watched silently as the GLC event spiraled into a carefully orchestrated disaster. He knew the lines by heart so he focused instead on the aftermath, rehearsing his spin to Stockwell, practicing the lies that would keep him on the inside.

He didn’t react to hearing Justin’s name or Debbie’s revelation about Dumpster Boy’s identity. But the pride he felt as Justin stared Stockwell down almost gave him away.
