They said you were too young. That you didn't know, couldn't know, what you wanted. They all told you to forget about him. Let go of your schoolboy dreams and move on.

But that would be worse than life in the closet. You'd be lying if you said you didn't want him, didn't crave him with every cell in your body.

They couldn't break you down. Couldn't make you let go. And every touch of his that set you on fire, every kiss you drowned in...only ever convinced you that they'd all been wrong.

This was what love was.

Anyone who saw you together could see that you'd become comfortable. You'd gotten used to him, and now, you wonder what it'd be like to be without him again.

He's like a fucking cigarette. You don't realize how addicted you'll be until you make the mistake of taking that first drag. Then it's over. One drag leads to two, then three, and before you know it, you're dependent for life.

Watching him bleed his own life out onto the concrete, you wonder why you ever wanted to break that addiction...because right now, you'd give anything for one last high.
