Carl looked around the kitchen. Every surface seemed to be covered in dishes of food. The noise from everyone talking at once, yet seemingly to be able to follow all conversations, amazed him
Debbie was in her element, fussing over them all in one way or another, making sure no one had an empty place, glasses were full.
He was quite happy to sit back, watch and listen and still be amazed that he was accepted into this group of people.
To Debbie they all maybe her boys but to him they were his friends. It was a good feeling. |
