“My father is an abusive drunk,” he’d snapped at Michael before storming out the front door, finally having admitted it aloud.
Tonight was different. Tonight things changed.
Tonight when the old man had come after him he’d swung back, knocking Jack down on his ass, staring back up at him in something like shock.
He set his jaw and walked across the street.

Brian and Justin both stared. Okay, it had been more than two months since they’d made it back to Pittsburgh but someone should have told them. No one had. Instead they’d showered, stopped for breakfast at the diner and were heading to their favorite toy store on Liberty Avenue. They’d been so focused on each other they hadn’t noticed until they thought they’d passed it. And then realized that it in fact wasn’t there.
Brian’s reflection in the glass was grim. Justin’s eye were narrow, his disappointment surpassed only by his anger.
