Alice in Wonderland group PSL? X-posted
Upon being cornered nudged by a friend, I've started a bookverse Alice in Wonderland group PSL that includes Through the Looking-Glass >canon, and I'm advertising to see if there's anyone outside of our little group who'd be very interested in it.
It's a freeform, slice-of-life RP; there won't be a game-wide linear plot, whether it'd be the Heroes vs an Antagonist, a plague, zombie invasion, etc. Threads run on what each player's character's individual pursuits, ambitions, relations with one another, and all that. In some sense of the word it can be called fluff, but, everything is taken seriously- considered canon- and ultimtaely, has a point to it. Threads will not be started for the lulz, out of boredom or lack of muse.
Now, the mythos for the GPSL is that the world's based on Tim Burton's Wonderland, as a kind of world Play-by. We'll be using many of the regions and landmarks within the original books themselves. I.E: Tulgey Wood, The Chessboard..
The GPSL is an amalgamation of Wonderland works; the world mythos is a mixture of bookverse and Burtonverse. How the characters differ from each other varies, based on their respective players. We're allowing players to combine multiple Alice adaptations, but there are some adaptations that we do not allow. That said, all characters must be heavily influenced by the actual original source material.
For instance, I play the March Hare: a combination of Burton!Hare and bookverse Hare. I have not incorporated any canon from a modern take on Wonderland, or from a stylized medium such as McGee's Alice. He's an anthropomorphic hare- he's not a human with a mental illness who thinks he's a hare; or, as a human, his behaviour is 'similar' to the literary character in a modern-world setting, and thus is nicknamed March Hare.
If the character is an anthropomorphic animal, they must be kept as such. The White Rabbit is a white rabbit. The Mock Turtle is an animal hybrid. Oysters are oysters.
Our rules (further down the post) and requirements all are subject to be modified, but nothing will be heavily modified, or taken out. The world itself is ever changing, it's not set in stone. It's inside Alice's head, after all. =D
What we do not allow, are the following:
