all day || outside sunset village
[If you happen to be travelling outside Sunset Village, you might've noticed this little group of a white-haired dude and his nearly equally as white-haired daughter, going back and forth from the town, carrying things over to a wooden house a little further past the train station, along the mostly empty greener areas past the Village itself.

Nothing too extraordinary, but someone clearly settling in might feel a little unusual given most people were initially told there were no permanent residents yet, and told of the fleeting nature of this world. Maybe you wonder how are they managing to purchase multiple items already. Perhaps you received your own charm, or requested to stay longer, and would like to chat to people in the same situation.

Or maybe you're just stopping by to listen to the third person involved - the bard, who doesn't seem to be helping much at all, unless you count his music lifting everyone's spirits... supposedly.]

I was thinking, "Have I perhaps grown even more handsome somehow, and so she's taken aback because of it?" [He comments, imaginary sparkles at all, as if it were a serious matter.]

But of course, one can't improve even more once you've reached the top, right? [ALREADY AS HANDSOME AS CAN BE.] So I was thinking maybe it's something else. [There, he's being a silly - you can be a silly right back, or actually chat with him. Whichever's more comfortable.]

[He feels oh-so-stupid that his heart does a little skip at the words, before he shuts down the idea entirely. No, it's impossible, and in any case if he's ever allowed himself to entertain this silly dream it involved you being straight-forward about it, not coy or shy in any way.

[It's something. Something about that look on his face that makes her feel suddenly off kilter more than the strangeness of all this. Did Himmel look this way too and she just never paid attention to it before? She grapples with that thought and the sudden urge it gives her to spill everything.]

It's possible. Not knowing how far the influence beyond this place reaches...

[There's something frustrating in the midst of what is a strangely nice feeling. Sitting here, with him, close again. She feels torn between keeping quiet and all to herself versus spilling everything to him all at once.] I worry that I'll say the wrong thing.

That it could mean harm to [you, to their friends, to the place they protected together] everything if I did.

Perhaps if you had more time, it'd be easier to tell how far that influence might go. [Or how important or not it might be. Or even if it's too difficult to keep it to yourself and you'll want to prioritize sharing it and deal with the consequences.]

Mmm.

[With that said, now she settles better, still somewhat uncertain in these circumstances but as ever, his acceptance is what serves to set her at ease enough. As the train continues on, she'll find herself drifting a little, leaning into his arm beside her subconsciously. It's... such a familiar feeling, she didn't realize she'd missed it, save for her dreams.

Maybe she's just having the longest dream of all time. Her voice is a softer mumble after a while.] ... Wonder what more we'll find ahead.
