Based on nearly a year working extensively with one wormhole and two years working on and off on projects that involved others, both theoretical and practical. Technically it could be large and stationary but then you have to explain exactly what effects combine to cause it to activate and why it only grabs a person at a time, or at least differentiate between the field of potential presence and the field of active effect. This is the same theory I've been running on since not long after I got here and I've talked about it with other, more qualified, scientists that have come and gone.

	You seem to forget that it has brought in multiple people at once. It has sent home multiple people at once. It's brought objects small and large from people's homes. It hasn't brought multiple people at once, it's brought them in succession, and we don't have any data on the exact times people have disappeared. Not for the accuracy required. I'm not saying I've figured it out, I'm saying I can make a couple of educated guesses about its nature based on previous experience. It's like the difference between realising that a zebra looks kind of like a horse and being able to diagnose and treat zebra illnesses.
