i'm lacking discipline, i need your help..
Who: Luc, Lily, and Julian.
What: Out drinking. PARTAAAAYYY~ HAAAY~
Where: Club CASKET.
When: Thursday, August 4, 2011. About 11pm.
Warnings: Drunken debauchery and language..
Notes: Completed!

Luc hadn't been out in ages. Between the moving in and being in the studio, there were people he'd inadvertently blown off and simply missed due to how busy he had been. And since it was too late to go knocking on people's doors (at least in Luc's opinion, considering he didn't know anyone in the complex well enough for that), he figured it was time to hit up a club - because while he hadn't been out of the house (save to go to the studio) in ages, he hadn't been to a club in even longer. He wasn't necessarily a club person by nature (he was usually too busy for it), but he'd gotten seven songs written in the past week - and he deserved a fucking reward for that, goddamnit. He'd heard about CASKET, and so the game plan was in full effect.

So he'd taken a shower, shaved, and changed into a white Armani button-down shirt paired with some eModa jeans - black Pumas, black belt, and stainless steel Movado (he was fashion forward, after all). He opted out on a tie, deciding instead to leave the top couple buttons open of his shirt - it was August and he just couldn't be fucked to wear a tie that night. His hair was relatively tamed considering it was growing a bit longish for his tastes, hanging over his ears now - and he knew he was going to have to make an appointment in the next week for a trim.

All-in-all, though, he looked damn good - which was about what he was going for.

Luckily for Luc, the club wasn't too hard to find as he was still getting used to the area. Parking was rather easy after that, as was getting past the door. So far, so good.

It was a nice enough establishment to suit Luc's needs - he actually rather liked it. He was also glad he had chosen a Thursday for his first visit, as he could see the place getting packed by this time on a Friday or Saturday. He made his way through the other patrons to the bar, ordering a double Chivas on the rocks - it was his preferred "bar drink," since he liked having something to sip in places like this. He would be sure to tip 50% on the tab when he finally closed it, because he knew a bartender always remembered customers that tipped - and Luc liked good service. In every sense of the phrase. It didn't hurt she was cute in a dangerous sort of way (he wasn't really into piercings and tattoos everywhere, but it worked for the look she had going on). He didn't get her name over the music, but he had all night to figure it out (if, a few drinks later, he found himself caring).

Besides, by the time he turned to observe the dance floor, a petite little brunette had already made her way up to him - without a drink in her hand. She was beautiful, no lie - though it probably had something to do with the lighting and the effort she'd put into herself that night. Just how Luc liked 'em, since he never left with girls like this - he just wanted some company while he was there. Pretty company.

"Where's your girlfriend?" she asked playfully, flashing him a smile.

"Not here," Luc replied with a smirk, a vague response he loved to use. He set his teeth into his lower lip as his eyes flicked over her quickly, then held out an arm to invite her to stand at the bar beside him. "Can I buy you a drink?" Because it was polite, though - in hindsight - probably unwise on Luc's part. Give a mouse a cookie..

"Absolutely. I'm Amber." She sidled up next to Luc - and when she did he noticed just how tiny she actually was. Maybe five-foot-two, 100 pounds - if that. Luc could probably bench press her (he almost wanted to try..), and that? Was not a turn-on for the 6'5," 220 pound Luc. Poor girl didn't really stand a chance.

"It's wonderful to meet you, Amber - I'm Luc," he said with that same captivating smile, charm set to 11. He motioned to the tattooed bartender(ess). "Whatever this lady wants, on my tab."

She'd ordered something fruity and was already sliding a hand up Luc's forearm by the time the drink arrived. She wasted no time for someone who, for all intents and purposes, probably thought Luc had a girlfriend (having heard the nature of his response). More strikes, and Luc wasn't really in the mood to play ball tonight - at least not with her anymore. He definitely wanted some company, just not this particular company. He could do better. And if not? He had something to fall back on. Fucked up, but it was real.

"You wanna dance?" Amber asked, fingers curling around the sleeve of his shirt as she shot him up a smouldering look from beneath long lashes, lips closing around the straw of her drink as if on cue. Little minx, even if she wasn't Luc's type at all - he couldn't deny her attractiveness.

"Not yet," he replied, taking a sip of his scotch to wet his lips - and so he could look at hers from over the rim of his glass. "But I'll come find you when I do," he promised, touching her cheek lightly with his index finger as if it sealed the deal.

"Do that. And thanks for the drink, baby."

Amber winked and wove her way through the other customers, relief sinking in quickly with her retreat. Actually, the view of her walking away was much better than she had been up close - and that was saying something. Too bad.

For now, posting up at the bar seemed like the thing to do, so he could scope the place out. He may feel like dancing later - you never really knew with Luc Haust. He killed off his scotch then and ordered another, letting the warmth spread to his limbs languidly - yeah, he probably would feel like dancing. With the way he was working on the drink he'd just ordered, it would most likely be sooner than later.

Lily typically didn't go to bars. It was always a once in a blue moon type of deal and when Max was busy. She kept the outing generally to herself, tried not to drink much, and usually left early. But after reading on the apartment forums that a new tenant had a club nearby, Lily felt her interest spark and she decided to go out for the evening. This way she could scope out the place but also show some form of support to one of her neighbors. A nice gesture, even if she hadn't met him formally.

Slipping through the doors Lily hugged herself as she looked around. She had chosen to wear skinny jeans and a flowing green shirt. Her hair was loose and falling around her shoulders as was typical but she decided to rebel and add three inches to her already tall frame with a pair of heels.

Going up to the bar she ordered a tequila sunrise. Drinking once a month wasn't going to kill her liver so she didn't feel completely guilty in making the order. Still, she nursed the drink and looked around until she spotted someone she thought was familiar. Moving forward to another one of the new tenants she smiled. "Hey, do you happen to live at Pax? I think I've seen you there before and we talked on the apartment forum."

Luc was more than just slightly surprised when Lily approached him, brows snapping up a few notches and an off-guard grin spreading across his features. "I do. And I remember," he said cheerfully, tipping his glass in a respectful little toast to seeing her. "It's Lily, right? As I recall, we have a cooking-dinner date. You do look lovely this evening."

Well, this was quite the pleasant surprise. Lily was much prettier than he expected - not entirely sure what he expected, but she did not disappoint in any form or fashion. Luc just had a general appreciation of pretty things, and Lily was something he could appreciate. It was also nice having someone he could look in the eyes better than Little Miss Shortstack that he had sent on her way. Being as tall as he was was definitely a double-edged sword more often than not.

"I'd offer to buy you a drink, but it would appear you already have one," he said, and then his smile softened with relief. "It's good you're here. I'm glad to know someone. You're saving me from more than you know." He chuckled slightly, pale eyes flicking over her in appraisal - but not in the creepy way, just a harmless once-over. Taking in the scenery, as it were. "So what's a girl like you doing in a place like this? Not looking for Prince Charming, I hope.."

"Oh, thank you," Lily said with a small laugh, lowering her eyes and suppressing a blush. Well wasn't he a sweet talker. "Yes, it's Lily and you're Luc, correct? We do have a cooking-dinner date. Are you settled in yet? We should plan that."

She slipped closer to him and leaned against the bar, crossing one foot over the other as she played with the straw in her drink. "Thank you for the offer, maybe I'll take you up for that drink if I finish this one." She grinned up at Luc, he was incredibly tall and managed to make Lily feel short. That in itself was a rarity because Lily had always towered over other women and been equal in height to most men. It was sort of... nice to feel tiny for once.

"I'm not looking for a Prince Charming, I just wanted to come out and investigate this place. I've had a stressful couple of weeks and I thought this might be a needed change. What's brought you here?"

Luc gave a soft chuckle, lips ever-curled into his trademark smile. "Take your time. I'm not here to get you trashed. Unless you want me to," he joked, closing the distance between their drinks to clink the glasses together. Then he took a draw off the scotch, of course - as was only natural after the semi-cheers. Duh.

"I actually came here because I've been so swamped with everything about the move-in and work.." He trailed off to a sigh, because he didn't even want to start with detailing the meeting he'd had with one Britney Spears earlier in the week - it hadn't been high on his list of favorite things, really. "I figured I deserved a night out. It gets rather lonely holing yourself up in a boxed-up apartment for a week. But on that note, I did get myself settled in - so any time you're free for our little cooking-dinner date, my weekend is totally clear."

Truthfully, he was looking forward to it more than he would ever admit. Because Luc loved company, and he'd been without any kind of human companionship (that wasn't paying him or being paid by him) lately that he was beginning to yearn for it like a creature starved. "Though I must confess," he added with a shy little smirk, "I haven't had much time to think about what I'm going to cook for you. But I'm sure I can figure something out."

Lily laughed, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Luc. "I don't really drink so one glass might very well be enough for me. If I drank this in one gulp I would definitely be trashed."

She sipped the drink lightly and began to play with the straw again. "Well, if you're ever lonely and would like company you're more than welcome to stop by my apartment. I'm not very active at night... right now it's even hard to keep my eyes open. But I'm there. And if you'd like, we could cook this weekend. It would be rather nice to cook with someone and for someone other than my brother."

She grinned at him, feeling at ease and enjoying his company she felt like they had the potential of developing a good friendship at the very least. And after speaking briefly with him through the forums she felt that they shared something- both having lost someone who they were close to. Even if her mother had died when she was a child the pain was still there and she missed her mother dearly. Without realizing it, Lily's hand drifted to her mothers necklace and began to play with the opal heart charm.

"Well, we will need to figure out what will be made. I have a lot of fruit and vegetables that I could bring. Either way I'm sure we'll figure something out and it will end up being delicious." This was an assumption of course. Lily hadn't a clue how decent of a cook Luc was but she preferred to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Julian was a fixture at CASKET - it was rare for an evening to go by and him to not make an appearance; he practically lived in the back office, though he spent the majority of his time mingling amongst the guests and personally ensuring their enjoyment. This particular night found him dressed to the nines with a pressed, collared shirt, vertically striped with alternating lines of blue, black, and silver, black dress pants and finished with polished, black dress shoes. With his long hair smoothed back and mustache and goatee neatly trimmed, he looked every bit the part of a proud business owner, and slowly he was making his way through the club, greeting patrons old and new, ensuring that all were having a good time.

Just as Lily was finishing her sentence, Julian slid into the conversation without so much as a hiccup. "Have you tried anything we've got on the menu here? I'll admit, none of it is the healthiest and the majority is alcoholic, but I hope you're finding your evening here to be pleasant." He held out a hand to shake Luc's, his grip warm and efficient but not lingering; with Lily, he pressed a kiss to the skin of her hand, patting it between his own before finally releasing her appendage. Glancing at the bar tender, he leaned over on the bar and nodded before speaking.

"These two have drinks on the house tonight, Bernie. Either keep the scotch and the sunrises coming, or whatever they order," he commanded in a soft tone, then turned back to his patrons with a toothy, beaming smile. "Pax Letale residents, right? Nice to see that a few of you took me up on my offer. Which residents are you, if I may be so bold to ask?"

Luc simply nodded and grinned, because as he was about to reply to Lily - well, something dark and handsome walked up. And it happened to catch his attention - not that Lily wasn't an absolutely radiant beauty herself, it was just in Luc's nature to show attention to the newcomer.

Luc could tell by the handshake, though, that the man - Julian, from what Luc could remember seeing in the apartment's forum - was clearly more interested in Lily than he was in Luc. Which was fine; Luc wasn't at all the jealous type. It was good to know these things going in. Kept Luc from making too much of an ass out of himself - and he needed all the help he could get in that department.

"You're Julian, right? This is a wonderful establishment," he remarked, taking a sip of his drink - killing it so that when the proprieter made the offer of comping their drinks, he could order another. Luc was never one to pass up anything free when offered. "I'm Luc Haust. We talked about booking some bands." His smile was genuine, and he took a sip from the fresh glass of whiskey that had been presented to him - he'd ordered this one straight up, since he was drinking on the house. Since he now had a better reason to chase his buzz more seriously.

He fished out a business card from his wallet in his back pocket, offering one to each of them - since Lily didn't have his cell number or anything, and it would be rude to just give one to Julian and not her. And Luc was a lot of things, but rude wasn't one of them. Z. Luc Haust was emblazoned on the front, as well as his cell number and e-mail - but no business title. His studio's street address and zip code were in the bottom right of the back, no name for the studio or city and state - he figured it would speak for itself.

"Give me a call any time you'd like to start figuring out what kind of musicians you'd like to bring here. I work with all kinds - though my business manager would probably have better connections for the kind of crowd you're looking to draw." Because, truthfully, Luc worked mostly with pop stars - since they were usually the ones who didn't compose their own music (at least not completely). And Luc was pretty confident that pop stars weren't the kind of image Julian was looking to put forth - something Luc had deduced from the look of the venue. Of course, he could have been wrong - it wouldn't have been the first time.

"You can call me anytime you'd like to set up our dinner date," Luc added to Lily briefly, then turned againt to Julian. "Would you mind taking us on a tour? I'm afraid I haven't really gotten much past the bar." He chuckled at the confession, because it really just showed how much he liked his booze - and he really wasn't too ashamed of it. Especially now that he was catching a pretty decent buzz.

Lily smiled at the newcomer and blushed as he took her hand. "I'm Lily Castle, it's nice to meet you. Thank you for the free drinks." She grinned at Julian before pulling her eyes away from him and looking back to Luc. He seemed distracted and ready to strike up a business deal. She gave a nod to Luc, agreeing silently to figure out a dinner date in the future before returning her blue eyed gaze to Julian.

"A tour would be nice. I'm not a frequent visitor to clubs or bars so this is certainly... ah, a new experience." She sipped her drink and shifted from one foot to another while glancing back and forth between these two men.

"I'd be more than happy to show my baby off," he replied with his same, slow speech. Not that of someone who was of small wit, but rather more with deep consideration for each word. He spread out his hands with a flourish as though presenting the club for their amusement, a game show host who held all the cards and the answers. First, though, he pocketed Luc's card, making a mental note to bring up the subject another time - it was rude to do business now, with the third party present, and he didn't want to do anything that might alienate the lovely young woman.

"The bar, obviously which you've both made good use of," he started, laying a palm down flat on the wide expanse of white marble that made up the front half of the bar that was available to patrons. Behind it was solid wood, a deep mahogany oak that housed glasses. Behind that was a wall of mirrors, reflecting the numerous labels of bottles that offered patrons a number of options of inebriation, including an American legal version of absinthe. Waving a hand, he directed his guests to the right, toward a seating area - he walked in front of the tall blond and the curly-haired woman, the crowd parting before him like Moses and the Red Sea. Even as he was providing a private tour, he wasted no opportunity to smile or greet a familiar face, sometimes shaking a hand here or there. However, never did a moment pass where it felt that his utmost attention was removed from that of Luc and Lily.

"And here, we have our lounge area; some nice leather seating, softened, of course. It's imported from Madrid. No time limit, either - first come, first served, so feel free to stay as long as you like with any dates that you might stop by with. Though we do ask that everyone remembers that it's still a public setting," he continued, the last sentence finished teasingly, eyes flicking between Luc and Lily suggestively. Not to imply status between them, of course, but merely making an observation. A hand ran down one of several leather couches, encouraging his guests to feel the seats for themselves; the couches were no larger than love seats and curled in a circular fashion.

Each was coupled with a low, white table that matched the marble of the bar set against the far wall. The tables offered a flickering candle set inside of a glass container, mostly for ambience rather than light. The true bulk of the club's luminescence came from dangling red lights that shed a crimson glow, tinting everything passionately.

Luc made sure to take up the rear of the touring party - mostly to keep an eye on both of them, because Luc liked to know what was going on, but also to allow Julian the courtesy of leading Lily first and foremost. Since it seemed to be what he was going for anyway. Sipping the scotch steadily, it kept the bemused smile from his face as he tagged along.

An eyebrow picqued slightly at the mention of Madrid and public settings - because Luc hadn't even been thinking about that, but, then again, he hadn't even thought about a date in over two years. Let alone what someone did with dates. Showed where Julian's train of thought was, though - but he guessed it was a club, and he also guessed that was what most club patrons came for in the first place. Come now so they could come later - ahem. Luc had never gone to clubs to look for tail - but he wouldn't be the one to judge somebody for doing so either.

Luc let his hand follow the line of Julian's, and the leather was absolutely stunning - and hard for Luc to imagine the cost of, even. Luc was quite a connoisseur of the finer things in life - that he would never call himself that under any circumstances did not make it any less of a fact - and this.. was more than fine. It was almost obscene with how beautiful it was.

It almost made Luc wonder how much it would cost to have it cleaned should someone forget it was a public place. And he was sure at least one person had.

"It's quite a beautiful establishment, Julian," he said with complete admiration, and it was no lie. "You must have been in the club business for quite some time. You seem to have quite a knowledge of the ins and outs of the industry." It was a great compliment coming from Luc, who respected all true businessmen - and Julian did seem to be a true businessman. But he also seemed to be one that used his business for pleasure - and that.. well, Luc hadn't decided just yet how he felt about it.

"Must be a good place for you to pick up chicks," he added offhandedly with a soft chuckle, taking the final drink of the scotch in his hand - and by now he was getting more than just a decent buzz. At least he had to be, because that last statement was borderlining inappropriate - and that wasn't like him at all.

The warmth that was spreading from his belly into his limbs was enough to make him reach out and touch Lily's elbow gently, because he had in no way forgotten about her - his attention had just been sidetracked by the tour. But not anymore.

"Do you dance?" he asked, a broad grin splitting his features - and it was almost a drunk grin, if Luc had maybe had another shot or two. But it was that close. "It's okay if you don't.." He paused as that smile went a little devilish. "But I do.. but I need a partner."

His pale eyes flicked over to Julian briefly. "Unless Julian would like to join me - but I think he has a club to run. And he wouldn't want to be seen fraternizing with the likes of me." He chuckled and gave a playful wink - probably a move that would seem a little more gay than it was intended, but Luc was feeling too good to worry about things like that. Right then? He wanted to just feel the music and have some human contact for the first time in six months - not necessarily have sex with somebody.. just.. be close to somebody. And if it wasn't going to be Lily, it was going to be somebody. He'd probably even have settled for Shortstack about then.

"It's very nice," Lily commented to Julian. She didn't frequent bars or clubs enough to know what was good but the place was well organized, clean, and the couches were indeed soft and looked comfortable. She guessed this was a good establishment in comparison to other places out there. She looked about herself, wishing there was more light but assuming this 'set the mood'. Still, the establishment brought a smile to her face and she meant all she said to Julian. "I really like it."

The brush of Luc's hand against Lily's elbow caught her attention. She turned to the tall man, looking up at him with a smile and made a small laugh. "I've been told I'm a natural at dancing. However, I rarely dance." She glanced at Julian then back to Luc as she continued to smile. "I'd be happy to dance unless Julian would rather take my place."

She bit her bottom lip then drank a little more of her drink. If she drank too quickly she'd end up drunk, already she felt the slight tingle that signaled the alcohol was in her system. No, no, she had yoga in the morning. She couldn't get drunk. But looking at Luc she felt that maybe he was ahead of her a little.

Julian cracked a smile at Luc's words, regardless of their intent - he was never one to show insult outwardly, though he wasn't entirely certain if they were meant to be so, or if his limitless tab was starting to affect the filter between brain and mouth. Either way, he made a shooing motion at his two fellow apartment dwellers.

"By all means, you two go have a good time. It's better to dance on the dance floor than look at it, anyway, and that's really all that's left to show of the club. It's certainly not big, but there isn't anything to gripe about, I think. Just a...intimate space." He clapped his hands together to fold them, the sound lost amidst the music and conversation. "I have some business to get back to in the back, but by all means, when you're here, feel free to ask if I'm around! I usually am, just out of sight."

He gave a final grin, toothy and cheerful, and made his own exit off toward a sign that read in black, solid letters, EMPLOYEES ONLY, moving through the crowd as easily as a fish through water.
