Between the rain and the pizza and beer, I guess the gods must be pretty happy with us.

With the dorms finished, I was wondering... who's planning to live in them? I'm still trying to decide if I want to give up my shelter.

What are the good points and bad points of both? The dorms seems a little bit more close quarters which could be a drawback, but if you prefer to be closer to people even if you're not living with them, it's a good point.

Shelters need maintenance too, the dorm probably doesn't, which also something to think about.

I like my shelter and Ollie helped me I have some good memories there, but I was more used to the dorm style living at home. I don't know. I guess there are pros and cons to both. That's why I wondered what everyone else was doing.

You could always try the dorm for a while, but keep your shelter. I mean, it's yours, nobody should be attempting to live in it until you have decided it's open and free.

I think that's a great idea. Thanks!

People's opinions are important, but only you can know what's going to work best. Nothing wrong with trying both. One might give you more security, one more privacy, might depend on the day what you need.

I wanted to mention that I'm going to talk to Arva about introducing the possibility of marriage to the community. I feel strongly about it that I can make a good case, and will mention the gratitude for the rain and ask if it can be a regular thing, since I missed really getting to enjoy it. This information is for your ears only, but I trust you.

I was more asking because I'm curious who I'd end up living near there.

[....] why do we need marriage? I mean, it's not like there are really any laws here or anything. You don't need a big show to be committed to someone. Besides, I thought this place was about free love and whatever.

Of course, I see. That's important too.

Because I think both should be available. Free love for those who want it, and commitment for those who want that. Not a requirement, just an option. You're right. There are no laws and whatever commitment is made is not really legal by standards back home, but in the hearts of the two people being joined, it would be. And that's what's important.

Yeah but we don't need permission to be committed if that's what we want. We don't need some kind of formal thing for it, either. Pieces of paper don't keep people from screwing each other over. If two people want to be committed, they can be. Look at Dr. McCoy and Christine. They're about as committed as you can be, as far as I can tell, and no one's licking them out or anything. I don't think we need special permission to be monogamous or committed or whatever. People can pretty much do whatever they want here

No, we don't. I'm not disagreeing with you. But it is something I want. I don't think it's a bad thing.

I intend to live in the dorms now that they're finished. I quite like being so close to everyone.

Really hot, actually He's great! He's got your hair and he's really nice. It sounded like he was on his way to the main camp when I ran into him, so I'm sure he'll find you soon.

Thank you, Rose.

I had never had pizza until I came here but it's good stuff. We must be doing something right.

Luke and I are going to move into the dorm I think. We've been talking about it.

I won't say anything. Besides you guys need a lot more room than the dorms have. Chayse needs room to run around. Although she won't be doing that for a bit.

She seems to make do with rolling around right now. Pretty sure she's figured out how to roll from one side of the shelter to the other.

I just wouldn't want to deprive the boys of their man time. You think Luke would help if I suggested building a proper house to Wedge? There's a lot of sweaty man time right there.

I'll probably remain on my boat. After living so long on the sea, I find it more comfortable than living on land.

Well, it's not a very big boat. I actually modified the one Finnick left behind to make it a bit bigger and add a sail. It is comfortable, though it lacks a proper bed.

Maybe the gods will send you a bed. They did for me.
