WHO: Cable and Open
WHAT: Arrival and annoyance
WHEN: Morning
WHERE: Somewhere in the city
RATING: TBD.
Reality shifted and the time machine took hold, and with a whir, and a soft hum, the future, ravaged place that it was, vanished behind them. The walls faded, and everything became a uniform gray color. Cable drew a breath of relief, only now believing it would be over soon.
The world faded back in , and they were there, drawn to where the X-men would be. And there, racing across the ground, was Cyclops. Cable grinned as he raised a hand, and Scott (his father's real name) came to a halt, just few feet away, glancing at Hope, then at him, and his smile lit up the day. That smile made it all worthwhile.
“You did it.” Cable opened his mouth to confirm this, and then felt a sudden shudder in his mind and body.
He groaned as the world went white, then black, then red, around him, and everything faded. His world came back into view with a thud as he landed, hard, on street surface. In a different place, he knew, and a different time, too.
He looked around, and sighed, rubbing his face, unsure where he was, just yet. His gun was not in his hand, but it was a close thing. People were moving everywhere. He looked around the street of this strange city, and moved toward a newspaper machine. With a quiet wrench, and a glance around to make sure no one had noticed, he opened the newspaper dispenser and pulled one out, then looked at the cover.
“Could be worse, I guess. So, I'm stuck in 2006 Los Angeles?” He groaned and closed his eyes.
Now what? He wasn't sure, but he knew he needed information. After all, if he was in a different time, he might just be in a different world, and that would suck. With a grumble, he folded the paper and started off, ideas in his head and plans forming in his mind. He had to find a way to get information, both on where he was, and how he had gotten here. Now, that might be a little hard.
He grinned. No matter how hard it was, he would do it, somehow. He would get back to the right time and place. He had something to live for after all. He had a father to see, and hope to see, and... and Domino. He smiled. Definitely Domino.
He started walking, looking around. He'd need information and a place to stay, to start, then more information and equipment. it was shaping up to be a long day.
