Cable stuck out a hand. "Thank you for everything. It's not often I find someone willing to give information and help to a random stranger. You're a good man, Sam."
He nodded, eyes full of that conviction he got, and warmth. A man like Sam could be a fierce enemyt, he imagined, or a fiercer friend. Only time would tell which it would be. But Cable hoped it would be the latter.
More than anything, he hoped Sam would be allowed to live his peaceful life, and not get drawn into conflicts, which invevitably arose.
