The sky was rather lovely over his head.
Harry lay there on his back, blinking at the darkening sky. Now, that was definitely odd. Last he checked, he'd been inside a house. Not his house, mind you, but a house. Mr. Lovegood's place, to be exact. His job as an Auror uncovered sometimes bizarre bits of magick items, and if the Ministry deemed them unimportant and safe (and if they couldn't figure out how to get money out of them, too) they let Harry bring them to Lovegood for his collection. It made him happy, and made Luna happy, and it was a pleasant enough thing. Plus, Ginny thought the old man was cute.
Truthfully, finding himself in another place after visiting Lovegood's home was hardly surprising. Harry had trained himself to touch nothing in the bizarre amalgamation, but it was so crowded that it was inevitable he'd make a mistake. Even with Auror training honing his balance and reflexes, it was apparant something in there had gotten him in the end.
With a sigh, he rose to his feet, brushing himself off. He'd warned Ginny where he was going, almost mechanically, just for this eventuality, so she wouldn't worry. In fact, he'd almost forgotten....so far, his visits had been safe. Well, no more of that.
He didn't recognize the skyline, nor the park....but it was a big city. That did surprise him. He knew the big cities in England fairly well, as he flew over them routinely. A brief snatch of conversation floated over to him. Oh, no. American accents. That bloody fool had sent him to America.
Well, there was no easy Apparating home then. Harry grit his teeth with frustration. He'd have to find some transporation back. It was too far and unsafe to do it with apparition, not this distance. A bit gloomier, he headed into the city.
