Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:!status: incomplete, ^date: november 18 2003, character: angelina johnson, character: percy weasley

Who: Percy, Open to Weasleys (by birth or by affiliation)
What: Coming to grips with the news about Charlie
Where: The Burrow
When: November 18, 7pm
Rating: Bad language, etc.

Percy stood outside the Burrow's back door where he could still hear the clinking of pots and pans in the kitchen as Molly busied herself with dishes to stop herself from collapsing in grief. Everyone in the family had been contacted once St. Mungo's had been able to identify the body found in the charred wreckage of the Hogsmeade quidditch stands.

Percy, however, still could not believe the news. How could Charlie be dead? Charlie who had taught Percy how to fly a broom, who had taken him swimming in the summer when they were young, who had helped during Percy's first year of Hogwarts when he had been warring between loving independence and missing home.

He leaned against the house's shingles, feeling numb inside. He wanted a glass of firewhiskey - Merlin, he wanted a whole bloody bottle - to help him deal. His only solace was that he hadn't been there to see Charlie die.

The confirmation hit Angie like a sack of wet sand and she had to swallow down the sudden surge of grief. She stepped forward and after a moments hesitation laid a hand on Percy['s arm. "I know," she replied quietly. "I didn't just come for George though Percy. I'm here for me and for all of you."

She needed to be strong - the Weasleys had lost one son in the war, another to this murdering witch and even a son, not by birth, but one they treated as blood. Fred. Charlie. Harry. How could Angie not be here for all of them?

"I don't need anything. Do you?" She shook her head. "No one has to play host for me, hear?"
