Shopping trip, of the sports variety
Characters: Angelina Johnson and OPEN
Setting: Diagon Alley (specifically anywhere between Quality Quidditch Supplies [#26] and Whizz Hard Books [#38] which is a lot of area to run into her), November 4th around 3 pm
Summary: Angie gets out to go shopping, her way.
Rating: Probably work safe

Angie didn't know about anyone else, but she needed to get out of the house. Unfortunately as it wasn't late enough to head to a pub and get completely pissed, she decided to distract herself another way: shopping, but thankfully not for a dress. She didn't really need new Quidditch supplies, but she wouldn't turn them down. Some of her gear was running a bit threadbare on padding, and she'd heard Quality Quidditch supplies had gotten in a new line of goggles that sharpened vision in inclement weather. Though she didn't often read much, she had the desire to sop into Whizz Hard books and see if they had any new biographies of sports legends. Might as well do both at once.

Angie got dressed, noticing only afterwards that lately she'd been wearing neutrals as opposed to her brighter louder colors. Instead of red or jewel tones, she was beige jeans and a olive top. If she were more overly concerned with fashion and mood she might have changed, forced herself to wear something brighter to help pick up her spirits, but she figured who cared? Besides, she'd just attend the funeral of the wizarding world's hero yesterday. She was allowed to not be bright and happy.

She Apparated to Diagon Alley with her usually loud crack of sound, Angie appeared somewhere between the two stores, debating which one to hit up first.

Angie laughed and slipped her arm right into Michael's. "I suppose I understand that. I've had a few people have the same reaction to seeing me off the pitch. Though some of them out to be used to seeing me out of my robes," she added with a mischievous grin. "So if you're on shift, I'llbe sure to come by."

She gestured with her free hand toward the general direction of Quality Quidditch Supplies. "I was thinking of looking for some new equipment. New impervious goggles would be nice, and I could certainly use an escort."

Michael raised his eyebrows with a smirk. "I'm used to seeing you out of your robes...while you're in the Leaky, of course, in other clothing."

He bounced on the balls of his feet at that. "Quidditch shopping, brill! My favourite! If only I had been blessed with the skills of an athlete like yourself, I could be up on a broom too," he spoke wistfully, looking up into the air. "So how has your day been so far, love?" he asked, steering her toward the Quality Quidditch Supplies storefront.

Angie laughed. "Of course. What else could I have possibly meant?" She sidestepped a gaggle a people loitering in the street and smiled at Micheal's enthusiasm. "My favorite kind too. I warn you, I could very easily spend hours and far too many galleons in there. You might have to drag me out, kicking and screaming."

The shop in question boasted a new influx of brooms, broomstick servicing kits on sale, and of course, the brand new impervious googles Angie had mentioned. she pressed her free hand dramatically to her chest. "If I wore pearls I'd be clutching them right now," she declared.

"No worries there, I doubt I'll want to leave anytime soon either. Not that I've much use for it all, but I am brilliant with the moral support." Michael could hold his own in a casual match, sure, but he never could make the house team or any other team at that.

Michael eyed the brooms in the shop as the entered. He did still enjoy flying from time to time, but ever since he had become an animagus, running as a wolf had become a new pleasure for him he hadn't known he'd enjoy quite so much. "Why Miss Angelina, I do declare, they are quite magnificent!" he said in a terrible accent that was both British and southern country at the same time. "You best try them on to make certain they are as brilliant as they look!"

"Brilliant," she beamed. "Now that's the kind of hours-long shopping I don't mind at all. Lock me in a quidditch shop all day, I'll be fine. Expect me to do the same with dresses or shoes and I'll be completely nutters by the end of the day." Angie's eyes went immediately to the new brooms, even though that wasn't at all what she'd come in to purchase. But it couldn't hurt to look.

"Good, I might need it," she replied, staring at the brand new model Aeroforce 10. The Aeroforce was a broom series designed more for Chasers than Seekers, a beautiful set of brooms that combined speed with power. Some Beaters favored Aeroforces, the ones who refused to sacrifice speed for a strong broom. The Aero was both and the newest model was begging for Angie to at the very least touch it. "Well I hadn't been in the market for a new broom, but I may have to reconsider that," she said with clear reverence.

She looked up at her terrible accident. "Michael that accent was godawful," she laughed. "But you've a point."

"Well, there's nothing wrong with having a peek, now is there? Or you could always get both! Now that would be the best compromise in my book!" He grinned, whistling at all the latest models. He hadn't meant to pull her off track, but he had always been a fan of brooms. He had had a Cleansweep during his years at Hogwarts, not that he used it for much other than recreation.

"You stay here with the brooms, I'll get the goggles and you can try them both out at the same time! Get the full effect, eh? Then you'll know for certain if the goggles are really worth it!" Michael went over and grabbed a pair of the display goggles, paying no mind to the store clerk who eyed him uneasily, obviously thinking he was attempting to walk out of the store with them. He brought them over to Angelina and handed them to her, smiling. "Goggles, check. Now broom. Which one?"

Angie tore her eyes away from the broom long enough to glance at Michael. "Best compromise? Not for my purse, you know," she teased. But it was sorely tempting. She waited for him to run off and the return with goggles in hand. Laughing she tugged them on and reached for the broom. Mounting it swiftly she hovered only a foot or so off the ground, testing the balance of the broom. But what she really wanted to do was test its speed and maneuverability. She noticed the store clerk watching them and actually waved him over.

"Look, I'm interested in this broom yeah? But I'd like to really give 'er a go then. Can I test her out?" Angie defaulted to calling brooms 'her' like her dad did with automobiles. She glanced at Michael. "Someone drew my attention to it so I'd better have a good look."

"Purse smurse. Are you a famous Quidditch player or not? You should be rolling in the galleons at this point! Blokes and birds throwing themselves at you at every match, wishing they could be with—and be the amazing Angelina Johnson on the Holyhead Harpies! I've seen it!" He grinned stupidly at her, watching her try out the items. He was genuinely excited by this, relishing in the idea of being on the pitch himself, not that he ever would be, but oh the thought!

Michael looked innocent when Angelina pointed him out as the culprit for pointing out the brooms. All he'd really done is take a look at them, honestly! He was about to say so but the store clerk was looking fidgety and said, "That's not really our policy here. I'll have to g-get the manager." He ran off as quickly as he could, much too uncomfortable for this situation.

"Oh, look at you, causing trouble in the store already! This aught to be good!" Michael watched the door to which the store clerk had vanished through and saw him return again with a woman who must be the manager he spoke of. When they approached he saw that she was actually the owner, according to her badge which read "Jacqueline Lejeune" for her name.

Angie had to laugh at that. "Remind me never to put you anywhere near in charge of my finances yeah? You're worse than I am!" She was excited as he was though, and now she had the broom in her hands, she'd little intention of letting it go. The poor clerk however seemed at a loss and ran off to get a manager. Not to worry. Angie was certain she could wheedle a test drive.

She needn't have worried. Once the manager came by he did a quick double-take, and grinned broadly. "Why Ms Johnson, certainly, let's see what we can do. We've got a place out back where we test some of the stock, make sure everything's running as it should. Perhaps you'd like to take the broom back there?"

Angie grinned at Michael, Sometimes it paid to be recognised. "Thanks that's be brilliant. "Come on, Michael, you've got to tell me how I look on this thing." Following the manager out to the back area, Angie gripped the broom with increasing excitement. If fact, the second they were all clear, she hopped on and kicked off, laughing at the speed and maneuverability.
