BODIES OF MUGGLEBORN'S FAMILY DISCOVERED
DARK MARK LEFT OVER HOME

The afternoon sky of Didsbury, Manchester was darkened this afternoon with the haunting and ominous green glow of a Dark Mark. The Mark was left above the remains and home of the Wilkinson family, who we reported as missing earlier this week. The Wilkinsons, a family of Muggles with a child at Hogwarts, disappeared on Tuesday, leaving behind signs of a magical attack. Their bodies were discovered this morning in front of their house, with the Dark Mark left overhead. Among those killed were Lucy Wilkinson, Daniel Wilkinson, and their two young twin sons, Timmy and Tommy Wilkinson.

There were no witnesses to the appearance of the bodies or the Dark Mark, but John Franklin, the lead Auror on the case, stated, "It appears that the family was murdered by the Killing Curse somewhere else, and then brought back here to their home, where the Dark Mark was then left in the sky."

The Ministry is not reporting whether or not this attack was by the hands of Death Eaters that may have resurfaced. The Dark Mark, which hasn’t been seen in over three years since He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was killed at Hogwarts, was a horrific sight for all officials that arrived on the scene.

Jack Hughes, the Hitwizard who was first sent to the scene on Tuesday, stated, “We have no leads at this time as to the identity of those responsible for the attack. Even though it is a Dark Mark in the sky, we have no reason to suspect that this was an attack from Death Eaters.”

The only family member to survive the horrible event, Edward Wilkinson, a second year Slytherin student, was at Hogwarts at the time of the attack. So far, Headmistress Minerva McGonagall has made no statement as to what will become of young Edward.

ARROWS DOMINATE, KESTRALS STEAL VICTORY
Article By: Belinda Dunstan

Appleby Arrows [310*] vs Chudley Cannons [40]
Falmouth Falcons [50] vs Kenmare Kestrals [180*]
Wimbourne Wasps [270*] vs Ballycastle Bats [60]
Pride of Portree [180] vs Caerphilly Catapults [230*]

The opening week of the United Kingdom Quidditch League opened with four incredibly exciting games. There were blow outs and surprise victories, as well as stellar performances by rookie players.

The opening match of the season was held in Applebee, Lincolnshire, England. The fanfare began with an aerial display by the Arrows, accompanied by fireworks and music. The Arrows faced off against the Chudley Cannons. The Cannons started off with an early lead, due entirely to their rookie Chaser Freemont. Freemont scored the only three goals for the Cannons before suffering an injury through a bludger to the head. The Arrows then took over, scoring sixteen goals before catching the snitch.

The Falmouth Falcons hosted the Kenmare Kestrals in Cornwall on Saturday night. The game was evenly matched for the first hour of the game, with the Falcons taking a slight lead. The game ended when the Kestrals’ seeker dove from his broom to catch the snitch before the Falcon’s seeker could catch it.

The first Sunday game was between the Wimbourne Wasps and the Ballycastle Bats in Wimbourne. The teams scored at an even pace until the Ballycastle keeper was struck by a bludger. The Bats were forced to lose a chaser to protect their goal, effectively losing the match.

Sunday night’s game took place on the Isle of the Skye, home of the Pride of Portree. They faced off against the Caerphilly Catapults. Early speculation said that Portree would dominate against the Catapults, and the game looked to be going that way. However, Portree had a hundred point lead against the Catapults when the snitch was caught in a surprising move by Caerphilly.

On May 16th the Montrose Magpies host the Wigtown Wanderers and the Cromarty Crakes host the Holyhead Harpies. May 17th’s only game is Puddlemere United at home against Tutshill Tornadoes.

FAMILY OF HOGWARTS STUDENT MISSING
DISTURBING EVIDENCE DISCOVERED AT THE SCENE

An unusual usage of magic in a Muggle neighborhood in Didsbury, Manchester this morning caught the attention of the Improper Use of Magic office. Following standard procedures, the office sent out a team of Hitzwizards to investigate, only to instead make a disturbing discovery. On a quiet residential lane  which is normally considered safe, at least by Muggle standards, the doors of the home were left wide open. Inside, the Hitwizards were confronted with a frightening scene: signs of struggles were evident in the knocked over furniture, evidence of magic usuage, and the notable absence of the entire family. "There were blast marks on some of the walls," said Hitwizard Jack Hughes, one of the two wizards who first found the scene, "From the patterns, we can clearly conclude that they were made by spells from a wand." When asked if there was any evidence that the family had been injured, Hitwizard Hughes said: "No Comment."

After discovering the scene of the crime, the Hitwizards immediately called in their supervisors, and the home was soon filled with numerous Hitwizards, Obliviators, and a team of Aurors. It was soon discovered that the home in Didsbury was not simply a normal Muggle home, but the home to the family of a Hogwarts student: Edward Wilkinson, aged 12, a member of the Slytherin House. Headmistress Minerva McGonagall assured, "Edward is secure within the walls of Hogwarts, and we have the highest hopes that his family will be found and returned safely."

Already, rumors have begun that the disappearance of the family could be related to a group of Dark wizards, especially those known to be prejudiced against muggleborn witches and wizards. Those rumours were quickly put to rest by Stamford Henkins, spokesperson for Minister Robards, who said, “Though the disappearance of this family is startling, we are certain it has no connection to any conspiracy or to a group of wizards. We are sure that the family will be found quickly and brought safely home. The Wizarding community will be notified as soon as any new information arises.”
