BODIES OF MUGGLEBORN'S FAMILY DISCOVERED DARK MARK LEFT OVER HOME
The afternoon sky of Didsbury, Manchester was darkened this afternoon with the haunting and ominous green glow of a Dark Mark. The Mark was left above the remains and home of the Wilkinson family, who we reported as missing earlier this week. The Wilkinsons, a family of Muggles with a child at Hogwarts, disappeared on Tuesday, leaving behind signs of a magical attack. Their bodies were discovered this morning in front of their house, with the Dark Mark left overhead. Among those killed were Lucy Wilkinson, Daniel Wilkinson, and their two young twin sons, Timmy and Tommy Wilkinson.
There were no witnesses to the appearance of the bodies or the Dark Mark, but John Franklin, the lead Auror on the case, stated, "It appears that the family was murdered by the Killing Curse somewhere else, and then brought back here to their home, where the Dark Mark was then left in the sky."
The Ministry is not reporting whether or not this attack was by the hands of Death Eaters that may have resurfaced. The Dark Mark, which hasn’t been seen in over three years since He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was killed at Hogwarts, was a horrific sight for all officials that arrived on the scene.
Jack Hughes, the Hitwizard who was first sent to the scene on Tuesday, stated, “We have no leads at this time as to the identity of those responsible for the attack. Even though it is a Dark Mark in the sky, we have no reason to suspect that this was an attack from Death Eaters.”
The only family member to survive the horrible event, Edward Wilkinson, a second year Slytherin student, was at Hogwarts at the time of the attack. So far, Headmistress Minerva McGonagall has made no statement as to what will become of young Edward.
