Who: Michael Morgan and Ainsley Kennedy
When: 27th December, 27th December, 2009
Where: Camelot Castle
What: Meeting up for the first time in forever
Rating: PG-13 for now.
If Michael was honest with himself then he’d admit that he had missed Ainsley. There weren’t a lot of people around from before who he felt like he could trust completely, with his fears and vulnerabilities. Yes there was Christian, and he told his PA/manservant some of his fears and some of his worries about what he was doing but it wasn’t quite the same. Christian had been dragged into this along with him when his father had suddenly given up control of Camelot and Michael wasn’t sure he understood the change as much as some others would. Others like Ainsley, who had seen how much of a carefree playboy he had been before the weight of the world had been placed upon his shoulders.
It was selfish to expect her to come back to Camelot just because things had changed, but he included her just the same and acted as if she was still a part of everything even though she had walked away from it years ago because he was a stupid git. It was selfish, but he wanted her back. He wanted someone other than Christian who he could talk to about everything that was going on, and yes, maybe he should keep the stuff to himself and play the stoic fearless leader but he’d never been very good at that. So it was just easier to act as if she had never left. Sometimes he just needed a friend, and that was a disturbingly sappy thought.
He was waiting for her in the entrance hall, coat pulled around himself to fend off the cold because it was a part of the castle that didn’t have heating put in yet, it seemed pointless to add it to the entrance hall when they still needed to upgrade some of the bedrooms. He was getting impatient and checked his watch, hoping that she wasn’t about to stand him up and just not show up. It wouldn’t be too much of a shock if she didn’t show up, but he was hopeful that she would. After all, she did have a present to pick up.
