"Only because you like horses. Let's face facts, you're only here to make sure I'm treating the horses right." Michael joked. He hoped that at least a small part of her was here to see him, even if that would probably make their friendship - if you could call it that - a tiny bit awkward on her end.
"I tend to keep my medieval swords in the armories in order to avoid being skewered. Something about people running around with pointy objects makes me nervous." And he wasn't entirely sure who he could trust around the weaponry yet. He always worried whenever he had to give out an official invitation in case the person was going to turn traitor or maybe even already had and he was just being sucked in. "But I got you something pretty. If you don't like it then I can return it and you can pick something else. I just saw it and brought it."
He went over to the tree sitting in the corner of the living room and picked up a small box wrapped in red paper and handed it to her. "It's not much, just something pretty for a pretty girl." If he didn't get slapped for buying her a necklace from Tiffany's then it'd probably be a miracle.
