Title: The Abolitionist.

Fandom: A crossover between my Turn-of-the-Century Toughs universe and Maculategiraffe's Slave Breakers universe. You don't need to know the fandoms to understand this story.
Pairing: One of my characters/one of Maculategiraffe's characters (and boy, did I have to flip a coin to decide which character to list first).
Categories: Male/male attraction, male/male platonic feelings, male/female attraction (subplots), and male/female platonic feelings (subplots). Historical fantasy (with a touch of science fiction), class/rank themes, family themes, friendship fiction, master/servant (subplots), references to past master/slave, mentor fiction (subplot), spirituality themes, war fiction (subplot).
Age of Sail era: 1910s, because commercial fishing by sailboat didn't end in the nineteenth century on the Chesapeake Bay. My novel features the shore operations that supported the Bay's fishing boats.
Series: Waterman, a historical fantasy series and retrofuture series inspired by the Chesapeake Bay oyster wars, boarding school rivalries in the 1910s, and 1960s visions of things to come. I've been posting these stories out of order, so this is the first story in the series.
Warnings/rating: Boilerplate warning for all my stories, with an additional warning for profanity. R (or M by my ratings system in the previous link). Both main characters are over eighteen.

Story summary: When a foul-mouthed, seditious foreigner turns up at your door, what are the benefits of letting him in? So wonders Carr, a young man living in a bayside nation that is troubled by internal battles. In his world, servants fight against masters, tonging watermen fight against dredging watermen, and landsteads eye one another's oyster grounds with greed. It seems to Carr that the only way in which to keep such warfare from entering his own home is to keep very, very quiet about certain aspects of himself which his family would not be able to accept. But "trouble" is a word that appears to delight the new visitor. He is ready to stir up danger . . . though he may not be as prepared as he thinks to confront what lies within Carr. The servants were scared stiff of him, and the masters were clearly uncertain what to say to a man who came from such an eccentric House. Nothing was different, nothing had changed. And yet everything had changed since Carr met a young foreigner who showed him not the least bit of respect.

Or is he bringing them to Neverland to play a part in the game set between himself and Hook? Pawns ready to fight and die for the sake of never-ending life or something much darker.

Washington Irving Academy
We’re a game for Harry Potter Original Characters, located here on IJ, called the Washington Irving Academy, and there are some wanted lines that our players would LOVE to have filled!
Quinn (![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) vodoun) would like her little brother Xander! He’s in 9th grade, any house, possibly Cameron Leahy PB though anyone who looks like Kat Dennings will do! And she wants her little brother around to torment (lovingly)! He's the family's heir and golden boy, and was too young at the time to really remember when his older sister attempted to kill him. She loves the kid now even if it's tough love. It provides for an interesting line!
Quinn would also love to have a love interest, and as a lesbian the pickins right now are fairly slim. She’s snarky and sarcastic, a bit of a bitch to some people, but a great girl to play around with. Any PB would be wonderful!
Chrissie (emuwar) wants to have SOMEONE (so descriptive, I know) possibly Michael Cera face though really that’s up in the air, to have a giant crush on. She has constant heartbreak syndrome and would love to continue this disease :D
Ash (ashlangley) wants a boyfriend, please! His player has some epic plot in mind that could cause a great deal of drama that would be so much fun to play out, I promise! “It will involve a love greater than Odysseus' and Penelope's, and heartbreak greater than that of Winston and Julia”. So amazing and plotty!
Many of our players would LOVE to have more Cheerleaders and Quodpot Players! We need to have some inter-house rivalry going here! It’s important for any high school for people to be able to pick sides, after all!
More diversity, please! There needs to be more persons of color in this game because lets face it. It’s an American High School with people from all over the country. Hawaiians, Native Americans, African Americans, Asians of all flavors, Russians, Latino/Latinas, Mexicans, and everything else!

That’s what this inquiring mind wants to know after hearing some of the juiciest news this town has had to offer in a very long time.
I’m talking about our very own town hero, Bo Jorgensen! This town cheered him on for the past four years and shared his glory as he carried Babylon High and the Badgers to four straight state and regional championships in a row. We all dreamed along with him as he looked at prospective universities in the Big Ten and The Ivy League. And, yes, we all cried when Bo injured his knee ending his hopes of a football scholarship and a career in the NFL. Now, wait for it Bo fans…
Haven’t you wondered how Bo is making money, since all of this has happened? He’s been making some pretty hefty purchases, I hear. Nice truck, Bo! Well, rumor has it that our very own Bo Jorgensen is working for Chance Navarro as a male dancer…ahem…stripper! Be still my heart!
